1。完形填空测试的理论依据

“完形填空测试”（Cloze Test）是目前国内外一种常见的考查考生阅读理解和综合运用所学词汇、句型和语法知识及考生的逻辑推理、分析、对比、联想等能力的综合性测试题型。它是我国高等学校入学考试英语试题和中学英语测试中的重点题型之一，最早是由威尔特·泰勒（W.L.Taylor）在二十世纪五十年代提出的一种语言测试题型。其理论依据是源于十九世纪末的奥地利和南德意志的格式塔心理学（Gestalt Psychology）。其主要信条是：不能通过对各个部分的分析来认识整体。要理解整体的全部性质，就必须“自上而下”地分析整体结构到各个组成部分的特性。Taylor在谈论完形填空的特点时说：“完形填空所涉及的是一系列与上下文相联系的空白，而不是孤立的空白。”他认为，“完形填空并不直接涉及特定的意思。它只是反复地从两种语言模式（language patterns）的相似之处取样：一
