这也难怪，英语量词用法和中文量词用法从来就不是对等的，例如说，英语的表达是a man的时候（特指），中文翻译为“一个人”。

反之，当英语出现精彩量词搭配的时候，中文却经常用“群”这类的字代替，比如，a school of fishes，就只能翻译为“一群鱼”，又如a galaxy of geniuses就只能翻译成“一群人才”，而很难看到原文中其实含有“群星璀璨”的内涵。久而久之，也就剩下一个用烂了的a lot of，因为考生使用时无需考虑名词单复数，无论是可数名词，还是不可数名词，都能“通杀”，可随之带来的缺失量词使用的单调乏味。
