Memory Rank

一组或几组Memory chips,有Single Rank,Dual Rank 和Quad Rank

单面内存通常都是Single Rank,例如单面的512M的内存,其中,有8块Memory chip(每一个为8位),即一个Rank;双面的512M内存有两个Rank.

注意: side 并不等于 Rank!例如,双面内存不一定就一定有两个Rank.一根1G的DIMM,其chip组成为128Mx4,也就是说总共有16块chip

但是,由于每一块chip在数据总线上只有4 bits,故需要16个chip来形成一个64bit宽的”rank”,所以虽然它是双面的,但依然只有一个Rank.

Rank=内存总线带宽/(DRAM Chip个数 × 每个DRAM Chip的位宽） 现在,内存总线的带宽为64/72位. Single Rank:1组Memory chip
