一、英语阅读教学的重要性

《英语新课程标准》明确规定:初中英语教学要侧重培养学生的阅读能力。

英语阅读能力是发展其他语言技能的前提和基础。首先,阅读可以扩充学生的词汇量。在阅读文本中学习单词,就有了一定的语言环境。学生可以结合上下文来认识单词,这样就避免了孤立地记单词,使单词更易于被识记、理解和掌握。其次,阅读可以培养和增强学生的语感。良好的语感,有助于学生讲出地道的英语。而且,还有助于学生解题。再次,阅读能有效提高学生的英语写作水平。阅读是一个输入的过程,写作是一个输出的过程。有了输入的积累,才能自如地输出。 “熟读唐诗三百首,不会做诗也会吟”,就是这个道理。最后,阅读可以使学生了解西方的风俗习惯和东西方的文化差异。

另外,在历年的中考、高考题型中,阅读理解是必考题型,而且占有很高的分值。

由此可见,阅读能力在英语教学中占有十分重要的地位,阅读能力的培养是英语教学中的重头戏。

二、英语阅读教学中存在的问题

笔者在从事英语教学的过程中,通过教授阅读课、教师集体备课、听课、与学生交流、参加教学研讨活动等形式,收集了英语阅读教学中存在的一些问题。
