西蒙和小洪经常一起学习，一同准备考试的复习工作。有一天，他们一起学习，这时西蒙说想买一杯咖啡。他问小洪要不要帮忙一起带一杯，但是小洪说不要。当西蒙回来的时候，他发现小洪正在看他的笔记。他当时很不开心，但没有立即说出来。从那以后，他就再也没和小洪一起学习了。小洪也注意到了这个改变，但却不明白为什么。[1]在这个案例中，我们不难发现中西方文化对个人隐私的态度和定义的差异是造成这个误会的决定性因素。
