翻译是一项对语言进行操作的工作，是一种用不同的语言文字将原文作者的意思再现出来的艺术。忠实原作的内容、风格，译文语言通俗易懂、符合规范是我们在翻译过程中应该遵循的原则．在翻译的过程中应该选择适当的方法和技巧．尽可能地将原文的思想清楚而有力地表达出来，使译文生动而具有魅力。

我们这里提到的省略法是英汉翻译中很常见的一种翻译技巧。省略那些可有可无的、违背译文语言习惯的词，可以让我们的翻译更简练、更加符合汉语的表达习惯．本文现从词语的省略方面谈谈省略法在英汉翻译中的应用。

２省略法在英汉翻译中的应用２．１实词的省略

对于英语中实词的省略，可以涉及到以下几个方面：（１）省代词．英语中代词的使用比汉语要频繁得多．因此，英译汉时，为了与汉语的表达习惯保持一致，许多英语中的代词需要省

浅谈英汉翻译中的省略法

省略法是英汉翻译时采用的一种常用方法。在抓住原文基本精神的前提下，运用省略法，可以将译文的语言表达得更为精练、准确、流畅。省略法有自己的规律，它是一种有章可循的、实用的翻译方法，其在实际运用时具有很大的实用性。

省略是指原文中有些词在译文中不译出来，因为译中虽无其词而已有其意，或者在译文中是不言而喻的。换言之，省略是删去一些可有可无的，或者有了反而显得累赘或违背译文语言习惯的词。但省略并不是把原文的某些思想内容删去。现从实词角度和功能词的角度举例探讨省略法：

一、实词的省略

实词是指名词、动词、代词、形容词、副词和数词等，它们在任

何语言中都起着很重要的作用，不可或缺，在翻译中通常不可省去。但有时为使译文语言简洁、严谨，在翻译成汉语时，可以省去重复的词汇及起语法作用的词，以避免语义的含混。

（一）省略名词

例：Fugue is a type of contrapuntal compositions for particular number of parts or voices.

译文：赋格是一种用对位法写作的作品体裁，有特定数量的声部。句中的part 和voice 都是“声部”的
