1.林毅夫:人民币升值可能会扼杀全球复苏

世界银行(World Bank)首席经济学家林毅夫阐述了自己在人民币升值论上的立场,坚决反对迫使中国让人民币升值以恢复世界经济平衡的做法。

林毅夫周一在香港大学演讲时说,人民币的升值无法帮助全球经济恢复平衡,反而会阻碍全球复苏。

目前包括欧洲央行行长特里谢(Jean-Claude Trichet)及国际货币基金组织(International Monetary Fund)和日本官员在内的决策人士都呼吁中国让严格控制的人民币兑美元升值。

自2008年年中以来,中国一直保持着人民币兑美元汇率的稳定。美国的经常项目赤字在衰退期间大幅减少,不过随着全球经济的复苏,人们担心 y经济失衡可能会再次加剧,引发新的问题,特别是危险的资产泡沫。

林毅夫说,短期外汇举措无法解决全球经济中的问题。他说,需要进行结构性改革。包括美国要管理好自己的财政赤字,中国要创造条件以降低储蓄率、扩大内需。

林毅夫在演讲后接受采访时说,其他国家不应该通过干预措施将本币汇率保持在低位,以提振出口行业。他说这种做法等同于保护主义。林毅夫说,在此次全球危机中,大部分人都认为我们不应该利用货币贬值来提振出口。

一些人说这正是中国一直以来的做法。
