Supportive arguments:

There are those who say that wearing a uniform gives a person or a seller of identification with a larger,more important concept.They say that the practice of making persons wear uniforms,say in a school,eliminates all envy and competition in the matter of dress,such a poor person who cannot afford good quality clothing is not to be belittled by a wealthy person who wears expensive quality clothing. They also say it is helpful to build up team work ability,enhance the school's entire public image,and boost up the honor of collectiveness by wearing school uniform.

Opposite arguments:

Others say no one should be forced to wear a uniform under any circumstance. Uniforms are demanding to the human spirit and totally unnecessary in a democratic society.Uniforms tell the world that the person who wears one has no value as all individuals but only lives to function as a part of a whole.If all persons were to wear the same clothing,why would anyone strive to be better?When this happens,all incentive to improve one’s life is removed.Why world parents bother to work hard so that their children could have a better life than they had when they know that their children are going to be forced to have exactly the same life that they had?Uniforms also hurt the economy.Right now,billions of dollars are spent on the fashion industry yearly.Thousands of persons are employed in designing, creating and marketing different types of clothing.If everyone were forced to wear uniforms,artistic personnel would be unnecessary.Sales persons would be superfluous as well;why bother to sell the only items that are available?

Opinions are divided on the issues of whether every student is required to wear a uniform.Supporters of uniforms claim that uniforms can prevent students from keeping up with the Joneses.However,opponents of uniforms argue that uniforms not only ruin individuals’personality,but heavily damage persons’incentive to life better.

Arguments of either side make sense.But as far as I’m concerned,uniforms have more disadvantages than advantages.Firstly,we now live in an era which

advocates personality.The same school uniforms will kill children’s aesthetic development and stunt individuals’personality,creativity and imagination. Secondly,all students wearing uniforms will make their own clothes unused,which will cause enormous waste of national resources.Thirdly,the wearing of uniforms would destroy the fashion industry,which in turn would have a negative effect on advertising and promotion.Without advertising,newspapers and television would not be able to remain in business.The entire information and entertainment industry would collapse.

Although there still exist schools adopting the practice of uniforms,I believe they will change their ideas after they think through its disadvantages.What we should remember is that individuals’freedom,motivation and identity will never be ignored.

It is all very well to blame traffic congestion,the cost of petrol and the hectic pace of modern lift,but manners on the roads are becoming deplorable.Everybody knows that nicest men become monsters behind the wheel.It is all very well again to have a tiger in the tank,but to have one in the drivers seat is completely another awkward and difficult situation.

You might tolerate the odd mad hog,but nowadays the well-mannered motorist is the exception to the rule.Perhaps the situation calls for a“Be Kind to Other Drivers”campaign;otherwise it may get completely out of hand.

Road courtesy is not only good manners,but good sense too.It takes the most levelheaded and good-tempered of drivers to resist the temptation to retaliate when subjected to uncivilized behavior.On the other hand,a little courtesy goes a long way towards relieving the tensions and frustrations of motoring.A friendly nod or a wave of acknowledgement in response to an act of courtesy helps to create an atmosphere of goodwill and tolerance so necessary in modern traffic conditions.But such acknowledgements of courtesy are all too rare today.Many drivers nowadays don't even seem able to recognize courtesy when they see it.

Lorry drivers say they have almost abandoned the practice of signaling cars to overtake when the road is clear,because many of the cars took too long to pass. Their drivers couldn't be bothered to select a lower gear.Others,after overtaking, slowed down again and hogged the road.

They manufacture them by force,using their direction indicators as a threat rather than a warning.Slanting matches and even punch-ups（打架斗殴）are quite

common.It can't be long before we hear of pistols and knives being used:we can then call our dual carriageways,and solve a spelling problem in the process.Driving is essentially a state of mind.However technically skilled a driver may be,he can't be all advanced motorist if he is always arrogant and aggressive.

As for me,I totally agree with the point of view mentioned in the excerpts. Admittedly,with the rapid development of economy and car industry,there is a constant increase in private cars and taxi.However,it also brings about some negative influences.In order to save time or for personal convenience,drivers turn a deaf ear to the road courtesy.Their illegal overtaking and inappropriate driving lead to many cases of car accidents.To solve this problem,the government has issued related laws to supervise drivers.But what’s more important,it’s drivers’good sense that matters most.On the one hand,drivers should stay calm when meeting an uncivilized driver.Don’t retaliate.On the other hand,drivers should respond to an act of courtesy,which will help create a friendly atmosphere among

Poverty can be found in each and every corner of the world,although the causes may differ from country to country.Given below are the main causes of poverty in the world today.

Overpopulation is one of the main causes behind the threatening of poverty on an individual level as well as a social level.This is simple math.If there are more mouths to feed and less income,definitely much will remain poor.
