If you are interested in films, you will enjoy the book The World’s Most Movies by Healey. It’s a funny book. Many of the films in the book are horror films(恐怖电影), but they are not made well. Because of this, people laugh instead of feeling frightened when they see them.

Some films are bad because they did not cost much money to make. In the film Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959), for example, the director used some paper plates for flying saucers. The main actor died after they began making the film, so the director used his wife’s doctor instead, and had him cover his face. This is such a bad film that it has actually been described as “the worst film of all time”.

Robot Monster(1953) is another really awful film. In the story, most of people on Earth are killed by a terrible monster. But when we see the monster, it is too funny to frighten us. It is just a man in a monkey suit.

But probably the silliest monster is in From Hell It Came(1957). In this film, the monster is a large piece of wood. Some people said that the wood acted better than human actors in this film!

The monsters in The Creeping Terror (1964) was made from some large carpets(地毯). These carpets were thrown over five people, and you could sometimes see their feet under the “monster”.
