College is a unique mix of freedom and responsibility.

When entering college,some students make ambitious plans to be successful,while others want to stay at the same level as they did in the past.

（1）A:Do you think that college education may have profound influence on a person?

B:Yes.It’s universally acknowledged that a university education will play a very important role in our

life, and it will benefit us in a number of ways. In the university we can acquire specialized knowledge about our major, and develop our critical thinking and research skills. We can gain a broader view of the world by meeting people from diverse background . Moreover, a university education provides the means for one to succeed. Not only will a person obtain knowledge and skills essential for his career development, but he will also develop an independent mind and be able to make right decisions on his own.

So I agree with that college education may have profound influence on a person! （2）A:Have you once imagined your college life when you were in middle school?Is your imagination identical to the reality?If there are differences,what are they?Can you adapt yourself to the matters beyond your expectation?

B:I once imagined my college life in middle school. I imagined that my college has pleasant academic

atmosphere, nice living condition and well-equipped library. What’more, I hope I will find my true love. For example, I didn’t find a person who really fits me. Besides the library is too small and dopey. Yes,I can.Now,I am an adult so that I should face the reality independently and improve my social skills to make the matters will be solved.

（3）A:In your opinion,what is a successful college life?What will you do to achieve it?

B:.In my opinion,the successful college life is divided into three parts:studying,interpersonal

relationship and a boyfriend or girlfriend.

First,successful studying,not just content with the 60 points.instead of this,we should pursue a remarkable achievement。

And,as for the good relationship,the joy could be found from interpersonal circle.if we have more emergency we can take part in some associations to improve our communicative competence finally,if you have free time maybe you can try to find a boyfriend or girlfriend.

（二）：Loving parents,loving children

The relationships between children and parents can be one of the most difficult,and yet,one of the most important relationships of all.While parents try to teach their children all about life,the children teach them what life is all about.

（1）A:What special moments,either easy or hard,have shown the love between you and your parents?

B:When I had trouble they always encouraged me to do my best.They used to say\

whether you win or not,the important thing is to do your best and keep going\were happier than me,when I cried,they were sadder than me.They give me much love,so I am grateful to my parents.

（2）A:What will you do to help your parents begin to see you as an adult?

B:There are things that I can do to demonstrate to my parents that I am mature and worthy of more

trust. Such as doing the housework, being a good listener, and being self-reliant can help me to show my parents that I am not a kid anymore.

（3）A:Please compare western and Chinese parenting styles.Which one do you prefer to?Why?

B:I prefer to the former.Because in western countries,parents often start from the characteristics of

their children,letting them develop freely.Besides,parents in western countries pay attention to children’s curiosity and imagination of nature.Finally, they focus on training the children’s sense of independence,inspiring the children to get the money through their own efforts.

Communications technology,including Internet access,is connected to many parts of students’ life at the university.It not only affects the traditional way of teaching,but also changes students’ lifestyles.

（1）A:What are the advantages and disadvantages of traditional, multi-media and online teaching and learning?

B:We used traditional instruction in the past.Copying notes and labeling them reinforce

memories.However,traditional teaching ignores students' discovering and inquiring.About

multi-media teaching, I think it can lighten the teachers'burdens because teachers could use PPT instead of writing significant information on the blackboard.Just because of this reason some

students think all the key points in the PPT,so they think just copy the PPT down.In fact,most of them would ignore even forget it after class.There is no doubt that online teaching is easy for students to acquire knowledge.But it also easy for students lost the ability to think by themselves

（2）A:Do you think the Internet is indispensable in teaching and learning nowadays?Why or why not?

B:Yes,of course.Traditional class has little interaction either among students and the teacher,writing

on the blackboard reducing efficiency.Studying online is able to choose when and what I want to learn and easy access to the wide range of online information.

The internet gets access to the latest development of teaching and learning.We can enjoy many interesting online courses and communicate with teachers after class.But,it has also lots of disadvantages.

（3）A:Some people predict that in the future students will learn only at home by attending online courses.How do you like this idea?

B:In my mind it's normal to learn only stay home by attending online courses in the future. Science

and technology are developing faster and faster, and education is also developing.Learning at home, we can connect the world through the network, to be more efficient to update the learning resources.So I think it's really good to study at home.

（四）：Earn as you learn

Many believe that working to earn money while attending school puts too much strain on the

primary task of studying.Others say to earn as you learn builds character and maturity and teaches invaluable skills for the future.

（1）A:Do you think early employment can build character?Why or why not?

B:No, not necessarily. Though early employment may help students to gain some work experience, it

is not necessarily helpful in building their character. Because they have to spend quite a lot of time working and may become less responsible or less committed to their study. Too much work may also lead to alcohol and drug abuse. So, in some cases, early employment would undermine character building rather than help it.

（2）A:Many people believe that the only task for college students is to study hard and they should not spend time on part-time job. What do you think?

B:I support the opinion that college students can take part-time jobs. Firstly, it provides the students

a chance to realize that money is always earned in a hard way so that they will learn to be economical. Secondly, from a practical point of view, students can earn some money to relieve the financial burden on their parents. Thirdly, part-time jobs may lead the students out of the ivory tower to see the real world. However, students must balance the time between the job and study.

（3）A:If you are going to work part-time, what job would you like to take? Why?

B:I would like to be a tutor. The reasons for this are obvious. One of the advantages is that I can earn

money to pay the tuition. What's more, another is that I can acquire more experiences and polish my skills. Then, I can learn how to teach all by myself, to review my old-day lessons as well. In that way, who won't admit it a good method to pick up?

B:Eh, I think, if I get enough money and have my own warm family, and I will happy.

B:In fact, more and more young people are becoming lazy. They like getting something they like, but

B:In my opinion, their parents are reasons. They see their parents become older and older slowly.

They can find their shadow in the future. They will sad and scared. They may try their best by reasons.

B:Frommy perspectives,I’m in favor of dating at college. For one thing ,dating has a promoting effect

on young heart mature, some psychologists say:“love is a late adolescence and early adulthood, the most important event, only through love, people will truly mature.” For another, there is an old saying which goes that men and women with the work and not tired.It’s true that when a couple work or study together,they will feel less exhausted and they will encourage each other. Taking all these factors into account, I approve of dating in university. （2）A:So,according to your understanding,what is true love?

B:As far as I’m concerned,true love is company. As the saying goes, to accompany lifetime is the

deepest confession of love. In the beginning, love is always sweet. As time is slipping away,boredom,abandonment, impatience,argument will come gradually. Once being eager to stay with someone forever,later, we would felicitate ourselves on leaving her. But for people who truly love you can tolerate all your deficiencies and understand you forever.Just because he loves you. （3）A:I couldn’t agree more.However, marriage is different from love.So,which is more important when it comes to marriage,one’s appearance or character or something else?Why?

B:For most of people,loveis sweet and romantic,but marriage is realistic.Nowadays,many people

take appearance or money into consideration,few people will regard personality and moral quality as standard.But,marriage connected with money is bound to fail. The most important thing in marriage is respect and understand.Also,responsibility is a standard for measuring your lover whether suitable for marriage.
