No poem should ever be discussed or “analyzed”, until it has been read aloud by someone, teacher or student. Better still, perhaps, is the practice of reading it twice, once at the beginning of the discussion and once at the end, so the sound of the poem is the last thing one hears of it.
All discussions of poetry are, in fact, preparations for reading it aloud, and the reading of the poem is finally, the most telling "interpretation" of it, suggesting tone, rhythm, and meaning all at once. Hearing a poet read the work in his or her own voice, on records or on film, is obviously a special reward. But even those aids to teaching can not replace the student and teacher reading it or, best of all, reciting (背诵) it.
I have come to think, in fact, that time spent reading a poem aloud is much more important than "analyzing" it, if there isn't time for both. I think one of our goals as teachers of English is to have students love poetry. Poetry is "a criticism of life", and "a heightening (提升) of life". It also deserves a place in the teaching of language and literature more central than it presently occupies.
I am not saying that every English teacher must teach poetry. Those who don't like it should not be forced to put that dislike on anyone else. But those, who do teach poetry must keep in mind 31. According to the passage,to have a better understanding of a poem, the best way is_____. .

B.we feel the original meaning of the author by hearing the poem read aloud after discussion
C.students should read the poem at the end of poem class
D.sometimes the sound of the poem represents the meaning of it
33. What does the last sentence in the third paragraph imply (暗示)?
A.The teaching of poetry is more important than the teaching of any other subject.
B.The teaching of poetry should have been much more stressed.
C.One cannot enjoy life fully without an understanding of poetry.

A.build a booth
B.provide equipment

People left their homes to move to higher ground without taking anything. People watched as dogs, cats, cows and other animals were swept away. They felt helpless.
Susan returned to her school the following Monday. She told the story to her students and showed them pictures from the newspaper. Her students took action. They began raising money for the flood victims. They sold candy and wrote letters to the community asking for donations. Even first-graders donated money. Mountains of clothes, furniture and food piled up. Susan's class
made Easter baskets from shoe-boxes and filled them with candy and toys as well as toothpaste, soap, and shampoo.
She and I put the Easter baskets into her mom’s car. On the trip, I wondered what I would see and I felt nervous when we arrived. No carpet, furniture, plumbing or appliances remained. Knowing that only days ago this had been someone's home pained my heart.
We drove from house to house, knocking on doors, ready to begin our mission. I wonder :would families who had been by floodwater want an Easter basket? Their faces lit up as they opened their gifts. As we entered one home and gave the gift to a couple, the man opened the box and began to cry. "I can't believe those kids did this. Let me give you some money for their school." As I glanced at what was left in this home, I could not believe his generous spirit. He finally agreed to write a thank-you note instead.
My heart was warmed as I played the small role of messenger in his tribute to the goodness of the human spirit. So often we hear of the shortcomings of youth, but these youngsters answered a cry for help with their generosity and love .

When I was a boy growing up in New Jersey in the 1960s,we had a milkman delivering milk to our doorstep. His name was Mr. Basille. He wore a white cap, and drove a white truck. As a five-year-old boy, I couldn’t take my eyes off the coin changer(硬币兑换器) fixed to his belt. He noticed this one day during a delivery, and gave me a quarter out of his coin changer.
