Step1 Greetings

Step2 Warming up

Play a flash about jobs. Let students watch and listen together.

Step3 Presentation and lead-in

T: There are many jobs in our society. Different people take different jobs, but we all work hard to earn our living and achieve our dreams. So, look! What do I do?

S:You are a teacher.

T: What do you do?

S1: I am a student.

T: What do you do?

S: We are students.

T: Good. Let’s try to know more jobs.

Step4: New Contents

Show the CAI and teach the new words about jobs. Use the new setence patterns ask and anwer.

T: What does he/she do?

S: He/She is a/an…

T:What do they do?

S: They are teachers/doctors/players…

Step5 Game( one minute dress up)

Pick out several students to come to the front and hand out several cards. Ask them to find out the right things according to the cards. Then dress up as a doctor/reporter/policeman…Invite those “actors” and “actresses” to stand in front of the class. The teacher interview them and let them introduce their “jobs” one by one. And ask others students to answer the questions.

T: What do you do?

S1:I am a doctor.

T: What does he do?

S: He is a doctor…

Step6 Presentation and lead-in

T: Now I am a teacher. (show the teacher’s photo) But I have a dream deep in my heart. Do you know what I want to be.? In fact, I want to be a host. Just like Ju Ping elder sister. (show Ju Ping’s photo) What do you do?(Ask the students who take part in the game just now)

S1: I am a student.

T: What do you want to be?

S1:I want to be a/an..

T: What does he/she want to be?

S: He wants to be a/an…

T:Why do you want to be a/an…?

S1:Because it’s interesting/exciting/challenging…

Step7 Pairwork

Ask students to make more conversations like this and act out.

Step 8 Groupwork and Report

Make a suvey of your parents’s jobs and dreams in a group. Then chose sevaral students to give an oral report like this: My father is a driver. He wants to be a policerman. My mother is a nurse. She wants to be a doctor. His father is a farmer. He wants to be a worker. His mother is a shop assistant. She wants to be a bank clerk…Step9 Listening

Step10 Homework

1.Remember the new words and setence patterns by heart and make more

conversations.

2.Make a suvey of your parents’s jobs, dreams and working places.
