My father influenced me a lot. He would take me to art museums, give me books I couldn't understand, and let me know that the world is big. When I became interested in astronomy(天文学) as a teenager, I bought myself my first telescope(望远镜). He would go out with me on super-freezing nights we would have in Canada when the sky was very clear. He would tell me something like “Sara, you must get a job where you will support yourself and not depend on any man.” He would say this almost in an angry voice. He'd seen in his own family that women would just get married.

For some reason, I always loved the stars. I didn't really pay attention to science at all until I reached my junior year of high school because I knew my grades would matter. I realized I was interested in science.

At about age 16, I decided to become a scientist. I went to an open house at the University of Toronto, and it was the first time I had realized I could be an astronomer for a job. When I told my dad, he was furious. He said, “You have to get a job that can support yourself. What does an astronomer do?” He said I had to be a doctor. “You can work part-time and still be with your family and make a lot of money.” But I didn't do that. To so many things, he taught me to be independent, and this time I was.

Diana's world is turned upside down when she discovers a man, Steve Trevor, washed up to the shore. He is saved by the princess, and tells her about a world war that is happening outside the island. Diana feels a great need to help save the world because she can't just stand by while innocent lives are suffering. So she decides to leave her homeland to join Steve to try to end the war.

In Wonder Woman, the battle scenes are a visual treat(视觉盛宴) for the audience, with Diana fighting with her sword and

shield and tossing around some enemies with her golden Lasso of Truth(真言套索).

What is the whole story behind this DC Comics' greatest heroine? What challenges will she face on her way to becoming the unconquerable warrior?
