Introduction

This report has a purpose of explaining why our department needs more staff.

Key Findings

Statistics shows that from 2001 to 2003, the number of staff in our department climbed from 50 to 55 (10% rise), while on average we were facing an order increase from 200,000 to 400,000. Since units ordered doubled, the current staff are far from enough.

Also, according to Staff Newsletter of February 2004, we just received a big order from an

international firm, which means our department will shoulder more work pressure. What is worse, the annual holiday has increased to 5 weeks per year and we will be short of hand more obviously. In fact, the lack of labor force has caused delay and the last order was six-month late.

Conclusion
