语法复习:情态动词

教学设计(3课时)

设计思路:导入——观察——体验、感悟——归纳——推进、操练——运用。 第一课时:完成对情态动词can ,could, may, might, will, shall, should, must

等词的复习认识。重点掌握 can, could, may, might, should, must 表示推断、推测语气的用法。

第二课时:强化对情态动词can ,could, may, might, will, shall, should, must

等词的认识。重点掌握 modal verb + have done结构表示后悔、遗憾、责怪等语气的用法。重点是情态动词在虚拟语气中的运用。

第三课时:学习ought to, need to, have to 等结构的常见用法。重点掌握其否定形

式的构成;讨论学生在情态动词学习和运用中发现的问题, 主要是相似语言情境中情态动词的鉴别。例如:征询意见、表达请求时May I / Can

I /Shall I 的区别。等等。

第一课时

Step 1.导入:设计了一个词语搭配练习(word match),以期激发学生

兴趣并快速导入语法项目。让学生通过查字典弄清modal 一词

的意义是“be related to mood”(与情绪相关的),后面的教学始终围绕关键词mood,引领学生感悟、理解、并运用情态动

词表达各种情境中的情绪。

Step 2.观察/感悟:通过例句呈现来复现情态动词。

(1)She will/will not have nothing to do with this matter.

(2)He knew he would/would not be late.

(3)I shall/shall not write to you at the end of the month.

(4)I said I should/should not be glad to help.

(5)She can/can not run fast.

(6)It was so dark that we could see nothing.

(7)May I use your phone? --You may not.

(8)He asked if he might use the phone.

(10)Need/Need not I tell him?

(11)I dare not ask her to marry me.

(12)I ought(not)to write to him today.

(13)Do they have(not)to pay their bill before the end of the month?

情态动词是那些?情态动词用法特点?是否有人称、性别、

数量变化?表达的含义?

Step 3.推进:以shall为例,通过观察来感悟情态动词所能表达的各种

语气和语境。

① You shall pay for this 你要为此付出代价。(threat)

② You shall have a car for your birthday. 你过生日会得到一辆汽车。

Step 4.操练(试错过程):让学生体会说话人猜测语气中肯定程度的强弱区别。

归纳:按语气强弱可分为:must(肯定),should(理应),can,could(很有可能),

may,might(可能/或许)。

Step 5.运用:运用是学习语言的终极目标。这一环节要求教师设计语言运用

情境,即给学生一个近乎真实的任务,引导学生完成任务。学生

完成任务的过程也就是语言运用的过程。但就高三现状而言,我

用高考真题代替。

Step 6.课后作业设计:

The class is given a dilemma situation: you have seen a good friend cheating in an important test, and asked to give guesses to account for his behavior and work out the solution. Students are directed to include modals (might, should, must, can could,etc) in their

speech.
