Module 5 Unit 1 Getting along with others
Welcome to the unit
Teaching aims:
To deepen Ss? understanding of friendship
To practice Ss? oral English by getting them involved in the discussion of friends and friendship
To learn the way to describe the characteristics of a true friend Teaching procedures: Step One Lead-in
1. Listen to the song called Auld Lang Syne (友谊地久天长)
Auld Lang Syne 友谊地久天长 Should auld acquaintance be forgot, 怎能忘记旧日朋友 And never brought to mind? 心中能不怀想? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, 旧日朋友岂能相忘, And days of auld lang syne. 友谊地久天长。 For auld lang syne,my friends, 友谊万岁, For auld lang syne, 友谊万岁, We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet 举杯痛饮, For auld lang syne. 同声歌唱友谊地久天长。 【注释】auld lang syne是苏格兰盖尔语,字面上相当于英语的old long since,意思是the good old days。 acquaintance是熟人的意思. tak' =take o'=of 2. Brainstorming questions:
1) Do you have any good friends? How many are they?
2) Do you think it is important to have a good relationship with others? Why?
Step Two Picture talking:
