Introduced as a widely known Chinese fable ―Blind men and an Elephant‖, it tells us never to draw a conclusion from incomplete data. For tremendous years, people outside China could only get narrow and unilateral knowledge about China, leaving a real China far from being unveiled. Nevertheless, the past 2008 Beijing Olympics was the very and perfect time to lift the curse.

For most people who are non-Chinese, they tend to have a picture of Chinese who are just Confucius-like, living in a highly polluted place or even having no freedom to speak in public, etc. Reasons behind are usually the following two: one is that westerners are not so eager to learn about China just as our Chinese do about them, the limited information that reached them are mostly outdated or biased one which were more often than not stipulated by a third party with a special interest; the other is that Chinese government were not so open as the one today and did inadequate publicity about its country, thus the image of China is always kind of mysterious to outsiders, then the image depicted above about China, though misleading, is understandable.

However, the grand Olympic Games provide an golden opportunity for people around the world to see a complete and ―brand-new‖ China. Therefore, a better world characterized by harmony between China and all the other countries is to come.

社会责任

When the issue of poisonous milk powder gains an overwhelming focus from the public, what are these malefactors doing? As we can see from the depiction, enterprise, milk station, milk cow and even grass are trying to find someone scapegoating for this credit crisis, in my view point, that‘s nothing to do with the credit but the problem of responsibility.

Responsibility is a keyword that we should never disregard, defined not only as the courage to face every foreseeable risk, but as the braveness to entail every

malpractice when it really takes place as well. The causes of the shortage of responsibility or even conscience may be as follows. Firstly, inner cause ascribing probably to the destructive influence emanating from the decay of morality may result in the over-materialism. Furthermore, outerly , deficient supervisal gives rise to the fearless adventurer who is at the risk of anything, not to say to deviate from his own liability, to pursue as many as profits. A case in point is the Melamine-laced Milk Incident which almost destroyed the whole of China‘s milk industry.

It is imperative that drastic measures should be taken to end this thorny situation, such as enacting related law to reinforce our supervisal mechanism to avoid the behavior of kicking the ball when something bad happen and promoting social entities to regain one of Chinese traditional virtues, which is called ―who would enter the hell if I wouldn‘t‖, that means, undoubtedly, to learn to be responsible for the blunder means sensible unflinchingness.

保护水资源

Having captured our attention, the picture vividly betrays the fact that a weeping person's tear is the last drop of water on earth. Simple as it is, the drawing set us sinking in awfully. Accordingly, what this far-reaching picture depicts witnesses a common phenomenon in today's society: The world's resources, especially the resource of water are decreasing sharply. It goes without saying that its symbolic message that the awareness of environment protection and economical utilization of the world's resources, especially the resource of water, has gone beyond the picture itself.

Why do we lay much emphasis upon this? Several points analyzed below might equip us with the deeper understanding of what we head for. For one thing, it is true that water has been nurturing human kind for millions of years. It is the most

important resource for human beings. For another, there is not enough bodies of water scattering around the earth. If we do not attach urgent importance to a rational

distribution, exploitation and protection of the water resource, we will sooner or later end up in severe shortage of water worldwide. Consequently, no issue stands as critical to build up the society in harmony as protecting water resource.

Judging from what has been argued above, we have come to recognize that the harms arising from abusing water resource has been, like the pandora's box, the crippling force of establishing our ideal society. It is, therefore, imperative that

effective steps should be made to protect our water resource. On one hand, we should appeal to our authorities to make relevant laws and regulations to severely punish those who pollute the water. On the other hand, people should enhance the awareness of protecting water resource in our daily life. Only by undergoing these measures, can we leave this precious resource to our future generations so that their tear will not become the last drop of water. Also, I do reckon that we human beings can solve this problem, and we will have a bright future.

(邻里)亲疏关系

Having captured our attention, the picture vividly betrays the fact that two dogs are talking about why their masters, who live opposite the corridor in the same building for such a long time, have never spoken to each other. Simple as it is, the drawing set us sinking in awfully. Accordingly, what this far-reaching picture depicts witnesses a common phenomenon in today's society :Pets, rather than people around them, play an important part in their daily life. It goes without saying that its symbolic message that indifference among people should be cleared up, has gone beyond the picture itself.

Why do we lay much emphasis upon this? Several points analyzed below might equip us with the deeper understanding of what we head for. For one thing, the great mobility of people make it difficult to sustain long intimate relationships. For another, people today are too busy and exhausted to start and keep serious long-term

relationships. And above all, modern means of entertainment and communication, such as TV, the internet, and mobile phones, etc. make people spend for less time actually interacting with people around them. Consequently, no issue stands as critical to build up the society in harmony ] as clear up indifferent among people.

Judging from what has been argued above, we have come to recognize that the harms arising from indifference has been, like the pandora's box, the crippling force of establishing our ideal society. It is, therefore, imperative that effective steps should be made to narrow and bridge the gap among people. On one hand, the government should make relevant laws and regulations to establish the society where people live in harmony. On the other hand, people should enhance the awareness of caring each other. Only by undergoing these measures, can we make our society, where people, even not knowing each other, help among them appeal to everyone. Also, I do reckon that we human beings can solve this problem, and we will have a bright future.

学术腐败

Having captured our attention, the picture vividly betrays the fact that some people who call themselves \ are doing their research. Instead of writing his own research papers, he resort to copying other's dissertations. Simple as it is, the drawing set us sinking in awfully. Accordingly, what this far-reaching picture depicts witnesses a common phenomenon in today's society: Some scientists or researchers are not do experiments but plagiarize other's research results. It goes without saying that its symbolic message that the problem of intellectual honesty is an vital issue to the healthy development of our science and technology cause, has gone beyond the picture itself.

Why do we lay much emphasis upon this? The most important point analyzed below might equip us with the deeper understanding of what we head for. Suppose that every scientist or researcher does not do experiment, but plagiarise others' research results, then what would happen? There would be no academic credibility and people would no longer believe what the scientists say. Since scientists are noble elites of society, if their words are unreliable, then the credibility of the whole society would deteriorate and collapse. Consequently, no issue stands as critical to build up intellectual honesty as ironing out plagiarizing others' research results.

Judging from what has been argued above, we have come to recognize that the harms arising from plagiarizing others' dissertations has been, like the pandora's box, the crippling force of establishing academic honesty. It is, therefore, imperative that effective steps should be made to protect the healthy development of our science and technology cause. On one hand, we should appeal to our authorities to make relevant laws and regulations to severely punish those who plagiarize others' works. On the other hand, people should cultivate the awareness of the young that academic credibility is extremely vital to us. Only by undergoing these measures, can we

reverse the disturbing trend illustrated in the cartoon. Also, I do reckon that we human beings can solve this problem, and we will have a bright future 诚信

As is ironically shown above ,in front of a pile of so-called ―famous brand‖ fake leather shoes and under a signboard of ―honest dealer‖ stands a business man, asking an old man ―what are looking for ‖ , with a reply from the old

man---honesty/credibility .(with the old man replying that I am looking for

honesty/credibility.)There has been a heated discussion about this kind of pictures in the newspaper. Simple as the picture is, it does demonstrate certain thought-provoking social phenomenon.

The picture tells us that the credibility remains to be an integral part in our society, especially in the commercial world. Nowadays, individuals, enterprises and organizations do attach due attention to this issue. By gaining credibility , people and organization can make money , take profits and even obtain wealth. With credibility and sincerity, not only can they accumulate wealth , bur will also establish their

careers, fit into society and finally attain social status. Honesty can promote communication between people, rid of barriers between people and bridge gaps

between people. what‘s more, were there no credibility in our society, never could we survive the fierce competition in the age of globalization.

As a consequence, honesty is not something that we can afford to lose or leave it at large. It is imperative that corresponding regulations and mechanisms with the joint efforts of the media should be introduced and enforced to promote honesty. The awareness of honesty should be enhanced, which will lead us to make every effort to keep our promise and boycott fakes which are shown in the picture. Only in a

reasonable, prosperous and healthy atmosphere can we hope to avoid the scene in the cartoon and witness the ideal scene in which people can enjoy their life to the uttermost.

附加学术诚信的语料:

(Honesty is paramount not only in the commercial world but in other domains. In the academic world, for instance, the plagiarizing of others research results can have damaging effect, which makes it easier to dismiss all scientific pronouncements. when we learn that the distinguished professor assuring us of the safety of a particular product holds a consultancy with the company making it, we cannot be blamed for wondering whether his fee might conceivably cloud his professional judgment.

信心/金融危机/甲流/就业难

As we can see from the picture, a football match is going on. On guarding the goal, the man on the left seems to be keeping a ―huge goal‖ that is easy and

inevitable for a goal, while the person on the right hesitates to kick the ball with an illusion about the ―huge keeper‖。 It is obvious that both of them exaggerate the difficulties in front of them.

This picture does reflect a thought-provoking social phenomenon which is not uncommon in China now. The young always give up because the problem is beyond their ability to cope with. Superficially, it seems to be somewhat reasonable, but when weighing in the mind, we find there is an apparent tendency underlying this phenomenon: the lack of confidence. Firstly, it is well-known that we exist in a dynamic world with various difficulties. We can do nothing but face them. Secondly, attitude is the key point to take the first step. Assuming bravery and confidence to solve the problem, you will find the question is not as ―huge‖ as you imagine. Take

us for example, the entrance exam for graduate students even seems to be a horrible monster before us. Some people give up, some persist. So, with confidence and the right assessment of the difficulties, try and exert your strength, and then we will overcome all problems.

On the whole, I believe we young people should face the difficulties in right manner. And nothing is impossible, just do it.

个人修养、社会公德

According to a survey, more than two thirds of people in China agree that, the public moral level is lower than before. This figure, although hard to accept, has indicated the fact that the nation?s overall morality is declining. If you pay some

attention, you could easily point out some improper behaviors happening around: young men refusing to give seats to the old on buses; shoppers jamming into queue instead of waiting in line; crude riders neglecting red lights, etc. So what the hell is going on?

As analysts have figured out, this trend of degradation mainly originated from faulty education. For decades, Chinese schools simply infuse bookish knowledge to their students, whilst moral cultivation becomes a kind of formalism; on the other hand, children are naturally influenced by their family and other adults in the society, most of whom are too sophisticated to be considered as eligible moral models.

Facing such disappointing condition, you may ask: how can things become better? As far as I am concerned, we must following these three steps. First of all: self-shaping. We should manage ourselves well, and try to shape our own morality as perfect as possible. The second step: family-shaping, which is to behave as the model for your children and improve their moral status through strict discipline. The third: organization-shaping. If you are leading people, such as being a manager or national president, you could reinforce your whole organization?s moral situation with policy and your own action. Even if you‘re no leader, you?ll have a positive impact on the society if only you manage yourself well and try to influence others as much as possible. 体育、奥运

In recent months China is immersed in a joyous and proud mood, because our athletes have won great glory in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, taking 32 gold medals home and topped all other times in history. They have not only collected abundant medals in traditionally advantageous games, but also made significant

breakthrough in those that were seen as weak ones. Two facts are reflected by this great success.

Firstly, it shows the miraculous increase of China?s national power. No gold medal is won free. The country must invest a lot to build sports facilities, to train athletes and to enroll them into international tournaments. In the past when China is in poverty, we really had a hard time affording sports facilities and supporting adequate athletes, largely hindering their performance on the fields. Now that the economy turns out to be much better and it naturally boosts medals in the stadium.

Secondly, it illustrates the aspiring spirit of modern Chinese people. Decades of years ago, Chinese of that time have been humiliated as ―East-Asian sick men‖ for their weak body and weary spirit. Nonetheless, the 21st century Chinese have impressed the world totally differently. In every field, Chinese athletes compete diligently over each medal, regardless of what the result may be. Their efforts have either won prizes or gained respect from the whole world. giant has risen from the East Asian horizon. He is more than a giant in sports 城市交通

城市交通

How horrible the traffic is! The picture depicts a scenario of a terrible traffic jam in the street. In fact, the traffic jam is so heavy that it is more of a parking lot than a crowded street. Anxious passengers cannot take buses because there are few buses.

Instead, the street is filled with too many private cars。

Exaggerated as it is, the phenomenon is not uncommon nowadays. With the number of private cars increasing, traffic jams in metropolitans are bound to happen. Heavy transportation pressure in large cities may bring much inconvenience to people and exert negative impacts on the environment. On the one hand, when traffic jam happens, short distance in the past now seems to become terribly long, and drivers could do nothing but to wait. Therefore, a lot of precious time has been wasted on the road. On the other hand, exhausted gas emitted by cars has increased the burden of environment and caused carbon emission, which has diverted from the concept of living a low carbon life。

Therefore, effective measures should be taken to alleviate the traffic jam. Firstly, taxes levied on the sales of private cars should be raised so as to restrict private car ownership rate. Secondly, public transportation such as buses and subways, which are low-carbon transportation means, should be encouraged and promoted so that we can have a smooth transportation。

人生处处面临选择 范文1:

This simple picture represents a situation that every person must face: when approaching a junction, which direction should one choose?

Most viewers can empathize with the sense of hesitation and uncertainty embodied in such an image. Without exception, everyone has to make choices in life, whether they concern school, career, or love. While some choices are simple, one cannot avoid the task of making difficult decisions. 

Choices are often directly related to one's happiness. University students, for example, face a hard and crucial decision upon graduating. Many students have difficulty deciding whether to continue studying or begin developing a career. Every individual is different, and one must take the factors of one's personal life into consideration. In addition to an awareness of specific circumstances, however, making the right choice also depends on correct appraisal of oneself.

In order to choose correctly, therefore, one must be both realistic and self aware. Furthermore, once having made a decision, one should seriously accept and pursue the path one has chosen, and strive towards the realization of one's goal with spirit. 范文2:In the picture we can see a man standing at a crossroad with two similar roads, and trying to decide which way to take. In daily life we are often faced with such choices. More often than not, we have to make cardinal decisions independently. This moment is very important for everyone to go through. 

In order to make a decision that we will not regret, we should bear these two principles in mind: thinking before acting, and never missing any opportunities that arise. On one hand, we should have an apparent, objective judgment about ourselves while maintaining a clear idea about the world around us. On the other hand, we

should also think about opportunity. Many people may not quite agree with this and think that opportunity is so rare that only the luckiest people come across it. However, opportunity is open to everyone and one should make good use of it when confronted with it. One should take advantage of it just like the proverb states: ―Opportunities are only from the prepared minds.‖

So when one is faced with choices the next time, remember that using the mind and taking advantage of good opportunities will pave the way to success.

人生成功

What is success? Different people hold different views on this question. Some think that one is successful if he can make a great deal of money. Others argue that success means holding an important government post. Still others believe that whoever has got a high academic title is successful. It is clear that there are quite different opinions on success.

In order to become successful, you should first of all be both perseverant and hardworking. As you know, whatever you do, there are always two possible results: success and failure. When you fail, you should never lose heart. On the contrary, you must build up your confidence and work even harder. You should always keep in mind that perseverance is the mother of success and industry is the key to it. In addition, you should pay great attention to you work method. It is necessary for you to sum up your experience constantly and improve the efficiency of your work. Finally, it is important for you to get along well with you co-workers, care for each other and help each other. If you follow these principles, you will certainly achieve remarkable success in the future.

In my opinion, success means achieving brilliant results in one's work, that is, making outstanding contributions to the development of the country and bringing happiness to the people.

人生没有笔直的路

范文1:

In the black and white drawing above, a youth gravely contemplates a narrow winding path heading into a forest. Perhaps he thinks that his own future may be much like this path; full of bends and curves, thorns and traps. The road to success is never anything but uneven and difficult. 

In fact, one could even say that the more successful one's life is, the more problems and hardships one must have overcome. The ability to work through difficult situations and unfortunate events only makes one stronger and more capable. Given that the road to happiness always contains obstacles and setbacks, we should be well prepared for the hardships that life inevitably brings, and abandon the idea that life is smooth or easy. We must accept the fact that failures are unavoidable, whether they are failures in examinations, in finding a job, or carrying out a task. People who accept that their life will not always be simple or calm are better able to handle problems when they arise. Those who are upset by each and every small setback — and there are many people with such attitudes— do not have much potential. Failure is mother to success as it can strengthen one's will. Those who can draw lessons from failure are destined for success.

范文2:

It is everyone's wish to have things go their way. Yet the journey through life is not always the case and we should be prepared for the twists and turns it offers us. This is certainly the case as shown in the cartoon. 

Twists and turns are a part of life and setbacks often happen. For many reasons, we often have to encounter failure in a complex society. No one can avoid or escape these unexpected changes in our daily lives; however, failure may be a route toward success. This causes us to reflect about what happened and as a result we build up and accumulate experience. We are then more likely to come up with a possible solution, and so twists and turns can turn into treasures. Edison, for instance, the inventor of the electric light bulb, made hundreds of models that failed before he came up with the right one. In general it is failure that encourages us to work harder which eventually leads to success. 

Twists and turns in life are unavoidable and are not always bad. We should have a more optimistic view on life and try to make the most of it and draw lessons from the bumps and turns along the way.

人与社会

the picture symbolically depicts that six lovely children from different countries with different ethnicities get together and play games happily in a world of harmony. It is quite obvious that the drawer wishes to draw our attention to the most favorable social phenomenon that cultural exchanges are gaining worldwide popularity.

There are, to my mind, several reasons accounting for this phenomenon of the picture. For one thing, cultural exchanges can enhance international friendship, and people can acquire better understanding of each other. Through cultural exchanges, they can learn of different peoples around the world, what they believe in, how they lead their daily life, and their traditions and customs. For another, cultural exchanges can also greatly benefit the countries involvedThat is because countries can share their achievements with each other to stimulating their own social progress and cultural prosperity.

Based on the above reasons, I hold that worldwide cultural exchange is beneficial to all countries involved. As for China, the open door policy has greatly promoted the Chinese civilization to the entire world and vice versa. Therefore, I can firmly conclude that in the long run, cultural exchanges will contribute to a flourishing Chinese and global economy, as well as diversified cultures.

As is profoundly depicted in the pie chart, we can come to a conclusion that a number of factors are responsible for a person‘s choosing where he resides, we can see clearly from the pie chart that opportunities and the living cost account for a larger proportion of the total. However, at the same time, the other factors, such as income, living conditions, social connections and competition can not be neglected either. Currently, an increasing number of people do their utmost to swarm into the big cities, it is universally-held that there prove to be a number of reasons to be

responsible for this social issue, in the first place, compared with the rural areas, the big cities usually offer more and better opportunities. What is more, to live in big cities is likely to widen our scope, which will be instrumental in our study as well as work. However, there exist a factor of significance that should be taken into account seriously, due to the soaring prices, especially the housing price, and the mounting inflationary, people living in big cities are compelled to live under huge pressure. In terms of the issue discussed above, the government concerned should do a great job with regard to administrative decision-making and support-measures, what is more, the nation as a whole should do whatever they can to create a happy and harmonious environment for its people.

As is shown by the two graphs above, the average price of eggs was on the rise from 1990 to 1995 and the demand for them increased correspondingly. The graphs also indicate that during the period from 1995 to 2000 the price eggs declined, and so did the demand. The phenomenon is quite strange and worth studying. According to the law of market economy, the increase in demand results in higher prices. That is to say, when prices climb, the demand decreases, and when prices fall, the demand grows. Now the reality was just the other way round.

The reasons for this strange phenomenon are obvious. During the period from 1990 to 1995 with the development of our socialist market economy people‘s income, bonus and different kinds of benefits, increased rapidly. Though the price of eggs rose gradually, the demand for them grew sharply, too. On the other hand, when the demand for eggs reached a certain point, it stopped rising because people began to spend more and more money on clothing, recreations and tours round the country and even round the world. It is generally assumed that the expenses for tours accounted for a great part of t

he total consumption of the people in our country from 1995 to 2000. As a result, it seemed reasonable that the demand for eggs declined during the same period of time.

As far as I‘m concerned, with the domestic poultry farming continuing to develop, the price of eggs is likely to decline because the demand for them is limited and the fall in consumption of them is also inevitable.

出国旅游

As can be clearly observed from the chart above, the trend of Chinese traveling abroad is going up these years. In the past three years, the number of Chinese

traveling abroad was on a steady rise. According to the chart, the number increased from 7.5 million in 1999 to 10 in 2000 and to 12.1 million in 2001. I assume that there are at least three main/primary/fundamental

reasons/causes/factors accounting for the above mentioned changes. First and

foremost, the changes are primarily concerned with the income of Chinese. They are better off and can afford to travel abroad. What‘s more, they have a lot to do with the development of the travel industry in China. Travel agencies in

growing/increasing/expanding/mounting numbers are attracting more people to join in their tours abroad. Last but no the least, the changes are closely related to our policy of opening up to the outside world。

From what has been discussed so far, it is obvious that the rise in the number of Chinese traveling abroad is of great concern to our life. It reflects the improvement of our living standards and the development of our economy.

大学生就业选择

As can be seen from the above charts, some important changes have taken place in the past years with regard to the employment of university graduates. In 1992, about 50% of the university graduates found suitable positions in state-owned firms, while only 18% of them were working in private firms. However, in 2002, private firms took almost 50% of graduate, while only 15% of them were willing to work in state-owned firms.

It is no difficult job for us to come up with some possible factors that underlie the above changes. In the first place, most state-owned firms were still operated under planned economy, whose economic condition was not as good as expected. Therefore, fewer and fewer university graduates wanted to find jobs in state-owned firms. In the second place, private firms were run under market-oriented economy. There were

flexible systems in private firms, in which university graduates were more likely to apply what they had learned in school to their work. Thus they could have more chances to be promoted, as they were willing to work in private firms.

From what has been discussed so far, I think that the employment situation in the state-owned firms won‘t change much so long as the state-owned firms don‘t change their system. And it can be predicted that the present situation will continue for quite a while in the near future.

You live in a room in college which you share with another student. You find it very difficult to work there because your roommate always has friends visiting and has parties in the room.

Write a letter to the Accommodation Officer at the college and ask for a new room next term. You would prefer a single room. Explain your reasons. Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express/air dissatisfaction/disappointment/concern regarding

accommodation. I would prefer to move into a single room next semester, as I find the present sharing arrangement inconvenient.

I must explain that the reason for my dissatisfaction is my roommate?s

inconsiderate behavior. For one thing, his friends are constantly visiting him; for another, he regularly holds noisy parties.

To solve this problem/surmount this difficulty/improve this situation/crack this hard nut, I hope to draw the attention of the authorities concerned. I am sure you will agree that the only solution for me is to move into a room of my own. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could find a single room for me, preferably not in the same building but as near to the college campus as possible.

Yours sincerely

Li Ming

To:Percy Shelley, Vice President From:Li Ming, President

Subject:Computer Training of the Staff

As we discussed earlier this week, I agree with you that our firm is faced up with problem of the high rate of computer illiteracy of the staff. We need to make up a plan for training our employees in the new field.

I would like you to design our own in-house computer-training program. We had better classify the employees and put them through the program in turn.

Write up a brief proposal, describing what you think the program should cover. Assume the class runs four hours a week for ten weeks. Also, assume people have no prior computer knowledge or any formal course work in computer science. 摘要类 1,金融类

Financial Crisis

Financial crisis, also known as financial tsunami, refers to the dramatic deterioration of the financial indicators of a certain country or several countries and regions in the world. It can be classified as currency crisis, debt crisis, banking crisis, sub-loan crisis, etc. The feature of the crisis is that people are pessimistic about the economic future because of monetary depreciation occurring throughout the region. The causes for the crisis are complicated with multiple reasons, mainly from three aspects, i.e., the U.S. consumption habits of borrowing, the idea of free economic management, and the economic environment and specific policy instruments. 2,管理类

Changing the Market or Adapting to It

In face of a market environment full of uncertain factors, should an enterprise change it, or to adapt to it? This is a question which has confronted business managers in making their development strategies for long. Actually, these two strategies represent different forms in practice. Unlike those who try to change the market, adaptors always regard the market structure and competitive behavior as a given external environment. Whether an enterprise should take the strategy of changing the market environment or adapting to it depends largely on the

environmental uncertainty and its nature. It is wrong to believe that the adaptive strategy is an easy job.
