How do you get along with your friends right now? Sometime we could have a fight with our friends,and then we may feel angry with each other. But I think good friends shouldn’t fight. Let’s come to the topic this class.

Teaching steps(教学过程设计)

Step 1. Warming up: Ask the students to talk about the following questions.

Have you ever had a fight with your friends? What happened?

How do you feel when you are fighting with your friend?

If you have a fight with your friends,how do you make up after the fight?

Step 2. Learning new words of the text.

New words

●victory n. 胜利

●beat v. 打败

●repair v. 修理

●service n. 服务

●message n. 消息

●check v. 检查

●secretary n. 秘书

●behave v. 表现

●bounce v. (球)弹起

●ouch 哎哟

Step 3. Listening tasks: Listen to the tape and write T or F.

? 1. Danny and Brian went to see a basketball match.

? 2. Something is wrong with Danny’s football.

? 3. Steven had a dispute with Danny.

Step 4. Reading tasks: Read the text and the finish the following questions.

1. How did Danny try to reach Steven?

2. Why did Danny get so angry with Steven?

Ask students to discuss in groups,and then check questions in class.

Step 5. Explain the language notes to the students.

1. Well,my computer broke down the day before yesterday and it’s still being repaired.

1) break down动词短语,意为“发生故障”,可用句型something is wrong来替换。Something was wrong with my computer.

2) ...it’s still being repaired. 此句为现在进行时的被动语态,表示某件事正被做。其构成为:be+being+过去分词,be随主语的变化而发生变化。

A new bridge is being built now.

2. Me neither!

此句为口语用法,相当于句子Neither am I!表示前面的否定情况也适合自己。

Step 6. Practice

1. Ask students to read the lesson more times and try to let some students to read it in roles. Encourage some students to act in front of class.

2. Finish Exercises 2 and 3 on Page 99.
