教学时数: 授课类型:□理论课 □实验(上机) 课 授课章节:Unit 1 Generations 教学目的、要求: 1)To know the features of the younger generation today ( post 90s); 2)To know how to define the different generations in both China and the Western world; 3)To compare and contrast the different generations; 4) To develop better understanding of different generations especially between parent generation and children’s generation. 教学重点: 1) Understanding the text of “A Vision of Students Today---What Teachers Must Do” ; 2) Encouraging students to develop their own view on China’s Education today ; 教学难点: Reading for the main ideas for each part of the Text “A Vision of Students Today---What Teachers Must Do”. 教学方法和手段: Teaching method: lecture with pair work and group discussion Teaching aids: Multi-media and blackboard Audio - visual approach Audio-lingual method lecture with pair work and group discussionexplanation and students’ presentationlistening&watching questioning&answering 教学内容及过程 新课导入: Part One: Before listening Step One: Background Information 1. Provide a general introduction to koalas by showing suitable pictures in class. 2. Ask students to tell the class what they know about koalas. 3. You may write some questions related to different aspects of koalas on the board and ask students to find the answers while watching. Step Two: Warning Up Exercises 1. Focus students’ attention on the underlined words/phrases and those in the word boxes. Ensure that students are familiar with the pronunciation. 2. Have students read the paragraph. 3. Have students write the correct form of the underlined word or phrase next to each definition. 4. Check answers with the whole class. Step Three: Oral work Ask students to provide a general introduction to koalas and their living situation. Step Four: Assignment Ask students to predict what will happen in the video. Write the best predictions on the exercise book. 备注 教学内容与教学设计: Part Two: While listening Section One Step One Prediction 1. Give students time to predict the answers. 2. Play the video! 3. Have students compare their answers in pairs. Give students time to predict the answers. 2. Play the video. 3. Elicit the answers from students. 4. Have students discuss whether there are any other possible effects. 5. Discussion 1). Ask students to work in groups and focus on the main points in this part. 2). Ask students to summarize the main idea of this part with the help of the given words. 3). Ask students to discuss in groups how to help koalas. 4). Ask volunteers from groups to present their ideas in front of the class. Section Three 1. Give students time to read the statements. 2. Play the video. 3. Elicit the answers from students 4. Discussion 1). Put students into pairs. 2). Ask each pair to describe the present situation of koalas using the information from the video. 3). Have pairs discuss what we should do to help koalas and make a list of measures and how to implement them. 4). Ask some pairs to present their lists of measures to the class. 5. Oral work Work with a partner. Imagine you are a koala caretaker and your partner is from the Defenders of Wildlife. Discuss the present situation of koalas and how to save them. 作业布置: Part Three: After listening 1. Introduce the task. 2. Ask students to form groups of three or four. 3. Give students time to do research on the topics, find the information and complete the table. 4. Invite a representative from each group to report to the class. 5.
