笔者认为，2011年湖南高考英语书面表达以大学教授主笔、中学教师参与的方式出炉。命题以图画提供情景，要求考生写一篇120词左右的短文，即以一定的格式描述图画，并联系实际发表议论，留给考生自由发挥的空间大，具有形象、直观、内容具体等特点，能充分考查考生的观察、想象和语言表达能力。题材内容上贴近考生实际生活，试题具有较强的控制性和开放性，让各层次的考生都有话可说，由词可用，有句可写，使其发挥出应有的水平。试题能较大程度地考查考生的综合写作能力。

From the picture, we can see that the sea consists of a lot of drops of water, trees make up the forest, and masses of people also become the society when they get together. Based on the picture, I give thought to a famous saying: All contributing to it, the flame is high.

So far as I am concerned, the picture carries the message that there is strength in numbers and cooperation is vital, particularly in the modern society. Put it simply, individual’s power and ability is too limited to carry out a huge task. However, just as a number of streams transform into a vast ocean, so a team’s strength may be great enough to move a mountain.

To sum up, only by combining efforts can we overcome our disadvantages and make it possible to realize our wildest dreams/achieve our greatest goal/attain the greatest success.
