Safety Precautions

? Read and familiarize yourself with the following precautions before operating the system. ? Read and familiarize yourself with the precautions in safety labels placed on the system. ? Make sure to comply with these precautions to prevent any unexpected safety hazard or damage that may occur during system operation.

This manual uses the following terms to designate the hazard level and damage or injury that may occur if precautions are not observed.

! DANGER – An immediately hazardous situation that may DANGER result in death or major injury, or damage to the system. ! WARNING WARNING – A potentially hazardous situation that may result in major or minor injury, or damage to the system. ! CAUTION CAUTION – A potentially hazardous situation that may result in minor damage. Operation Manual | 3

3D In-line Solder Paste Inspection Systems Safety Labels and Signs ! DANGER ● Personal Injury DANGER Avoid contact of any part of your body with the conveyor inside the door when the system is ON. It may result in personal injury. DANGER Do not open the front door during system operation. It may result in personal injury. ● Safety Equipment DANGER Always wear protective gloves and goggles when handling printing media. Otherwise, your health may be adversely affected by lead contained in the media. ● Waste Disposal DANGER Waste should be disposed of safely following the required procedures. Otherwise, it may cause an adverse health effect or contamination by lead. ● Electric Shock DANGER Do not open the front panel in the lower part of the system when the system is ON. It may result in electric shock. DANGER Make sure that the power cable is removed when the system is turned off for an extended time. Otherwise, it may result in fire or electric shock. DANGER Make sure that the system is grounded to a resistance of < 100? during installation. Otherwise, it may result in electric shock or damage to the system. DANGER Never operate the system with wet hands. It may lead to electric shock. DANGER Make sure that water or oil do not get into the system. It may result in electric shock or damage to the system. ● Explosion or Fire DANGER Do not heat the system. It may lead to explosion of the system or fire. ! WARNING ● Pinch Point WARNING Make sure that the system is stopped when opening the cover. Otherwise, it may result in hand injury. WARNING Do not place your finger inside the cover. It may result in hand injury. WARNING Do not place your finger inside the cover while using the keyboard. It may result in hand injury. ● Laser Hazard WARNING Do not look directly at or into the laser beam. It may result in impairment of vision. WARNING Do not attempt to open the door by force during system operation. It may lead to personal injury or damage to the system. ● Gas Hazard WARNING Do not use the air filter regulator to clean or dry any system parts. Microscopic particles of dust may have an adverse effect on your health. WARNING Do not direct compressed air towards the skin or eyes. It may result in personal injury. WARNING Make sure that the system is completely depressurized before performing a repair. Otherwise, it may result in personal injury. ● Handling hot components WARNING Since motor bearings become extremely hot during system operation, avoid contact with them. It may lead to burns or injury. ! CAUTION ● Do not disassemble or modify. CAUTION Do not disassemble or modify the system. It may result in damage to the system. Operation Manual | 5

3D In-line Solder Paste Inspection Systems Safety Guidelines ? Since improper manipulation of the system may cause a safety hazard or system malfunction, make sure to comply with the following safety guidelines. Before operation ? DANGER Ground the GND terminal using a copper wire with a cross-section area greater than 3.5? before operating the system. Otherwise it may result in electric shock or noise. ? DANGER Avoid contacting the system's moving mechanical parts with your body or clothing or other objects. Make sure to check if it is safe before supplying power to the system. ? CAUTION Make sure that the system is turned off before supplying compressed air slowly to the system for system operation. ? CAUTION Make sure to check the system before connecting its power cable to a power supply. ? WARNING Restrict the use or maintenance of the system to persons trained for system operation and maintenance. ? CAUTION If a natural disaster such as an earthquake, flood or fire occurs, stop system operation immediately and remove the power cable. ? DANGER Do not locate inflammable materials or gas near the system. It may lead to explosion of the system or fire. 10 | KY-8030 Series(KYOS-2007002_rev0)

During operation

? DANGER If a hazardous situation occurs during system operation, press the

Emergency button (E/STOP, red) immediately and set the switch inside the panel to OFF.

and Control Power is inside the front door.

? DANGER When more than one person is engaged in system operation, ensure

proper communication between them to prevent any unforeseen accidents from occurring.

? DANGER Do not open the protective cover during system operation. It may lead to

personal injury or damage to the system.

? DANGER Do not deactivate or alter the safety sensor. Always ensure the normal

operation of the sensor. If not, it may result in personal injury or damage to the system.

? DANGER If an abnormal condition occurs during system operation, make sure to shut

down the power to the system before taking any necessary action.

? DANGER When the green tower lamp is ON, handle the system with care as the

system is in automatic operation even though it appears to have stopped.

3D In-line Solder Paste Inspection Systems ? ? ? ? ? DANGER If anything unusual is noticed in the operation of the system, stop the system first and then shut down the power to it as needed. WARNING Turn the system off during part replacement or system calibration. When the system has completely stopped, remove the power cable from the power supply and then follow the required steps for replacement or calibration. WARNING Make sure to keep hands and other objects out of the buffer conveyor on either side. Failure to do so may lead to personal injury or system error. WARNING No person other than an operator should be allowed into the system operation area. CAUTION Do not attempt to manipulate the various sensors attached to the conveyors on the left and right sides of the system by yourself. 1. Machine Configuration

1.1. Main Body

1.2.1. Emergency Button

Activate the button when an emergency situation or safety hazard occurs during system operation.

1) To activate: Press the emergency button. The three Tower lamps will blink and

The alarm will sound.

The system operation stops. The power to the mechanical parts is shut down. 2) To deactivate: Resolve the problem.

Pull out the Emergency button.

Press the Start button or click the Start button in the left hand side of the Main program.

1.2.2. Start Button

Activate the PCB inspection.

Press the Start (green) button on the outside of the system or click the Start button in the left hand side of the main program.

A PCB is transferred into the system and the inspection process starts.

1.2.3. Stop Button

Stop the PCB inspection.

Press the Stop (red) button on the outside of the system or click the Stop button in the left hand side of the main program. The system stops operating.

1.2.4. Control Power

This button is reserved for a new function that will be added in the future. For the time being it does not offer any functionality.

※ Note: Before activating the button in the main program, make sure that the Solder Paste 3D-inspection System program (KY-3030.exe) is running.

Operating the Door Lock Sensor 1) To activate: When the door sensor detects the system cover opening, the system operation is stopped. 2) To deactivate: Close the system cover and press the Start button or click the Start button in the left hand side of the main program. 2. Operation

2.1. Machine configuration

※ Note: For serial No. SPI-8012~8014 and 8017~8018 of KY-8030 series, Main Power Switch is not

included and Control Power is inside the front door.

※ Note: The switch locations may vary depending on the system model. For information on exact

switch locations for a specific model, see \Maintenance Manual.

Powering On the System and Starting Inspection 1) Open the back door and set the Circuit Breaker switch (MCCB) to ON. 2) Turn the Main switch clockwise. The Circuit Breaker lamp (yellow) will turn on. 3) Turn the control power clockwise and turn on the computer. ※ Note: For serial No. SPI-8012~8014 and 8017~8018 of KY-8030 series, 1) Open the front door and turn the Vision PC on. 2) Turn the control power clockwise. 3) Make sure that the two LED lights are on. 20 | KY-8030 Series(KYOS-2007002_rev0)

4) Once the computer booting process is completed, run KY-3030.exe and WinMCS.exe by clicking

and button.

5) The Job file will be loaded and Input Production Quantity dialog box will pop up

6) Specify the information properly and Click OK.

3D In-line Solder Paste Inspection Systems 7) The screen below will be displayed ※ Note: The Program Status Bar indicates OFF-Line. Nothing is activated on Left Button Bar. Program Status Left Button Bar ※ Note: I/O, M/M and Jog buttons are not included in KY-8030 series. 8) Turn the Power Control Switch clockwise. The Power lamp (green) will turn on. 22 | KY-8030 Series(KYOS-2007002_rev0)

9) Once the home-checking process for the system is completed, the status of machine will change into IDLE. (It takes about 3 min)

※ Note: The Program Status Bar indicates Idle. And it means it is ready to inspect the board.

Some buttons on Left Button Bar will be activated.

10) If proper Job file is already loaded, click the button.

11) PCB inspection will be started.

12) The defect viewer will pop up when any errors detected during the inspection. And the machine will operating.

3D In-line Solder Paste Inspection Systems ? The “Defect Viewer” Dialog Box Inspection Result Graph Settings Based on pad inspection data, select SPC, NG or PASS. SPC: Go to the SPC window. NG: Mark the PCB as NG. The operator should pull out the board. PASS: Pass the NG PCB to the next process and start next PCB inspection. Specify graph settings. Mesh: Display mesh on the 3D graph. Legend: Display legend. Flat: Display in 2D. Get more detailed view of the inspection result in a new window. Detail View Previous Next PCB PAD Verification Display the inspection result for the previous error pad. Display the inspection result for the next error pad. Enter barcode and comments for the PCB. Based on pad inspection data, select either NG or PASS for error pads. ?NG: Mark the pad as NG. ?Good: Mark the pad as Good. ?Pad Comment: Enter comments for the pad. 24 | KY-8030 Series(KYOS-2007002_rev0)

2.3. Shutting Down the System

1) Close all programs.

2) In Windows, click the Start button and choose \computer\3) Choose \

4) When the computer is turned off, turn the Power Control Switch counter- clockwise. The Power lamp (green) will turn off. 5) Turn the Main switch clockwise. The Circuit Breaker lamp (yellow) will turn off. 6) Set the Circuit Breaker switch to OFF.

S/W Bypass mode 1) Make sure that the status of the machine is IDLE 2) Click button on the Left Button Bar. 3) The status of the machine will be changed to 4) The machine will let boards through without any inspection. . 26 | KY-8030 Series(KYOS-2007002_rev0)

2.5. H/W Bypass mode

Only used in the emergency situation where the computer does not work.

1) Control Power should be turned off.

2) Open the bottom side door of the machine and turn the conveyor S/W clockwise.

3) Turn control power S/W clockwise, then the conveyor S/W lamp will be turned on. The conveyor only mode start to work.

4) The machine will be used as a conveyor.

In order to go back to the normal mode, take the reverse order.
