Step2 Presentation (six minutes)1. T: Where is the ideal home for the wildlife? Elicit Ss’ answers eg, in the country parks; special nature reserves. Use a map of China. Introducue some nature reserves, focus on Zhalong in the end. Conclude : Birds coming to Zhalong are water birds. They live on wetlands to feed, breed or rest for all or part of their life cycle. Some swim under the water to get food; Some feed at the edge of water and on land; and others find food in the vegetation in the wetlands. Many species of water birds are migratory. They breed in one wetland area and fly to a different one to spend the cold months. They sometimes interrupt their journey and stop at other wetlands to rest and feed. (点击中国地图上的自然保护区,最后一个自然保护区把学生自然过渡到今天 要学的内容。教师结论激发了学生学习本节课的兴趣。) 2.Enjoy a flash named ‘ A True Story’ (设计理念:让学生欣赏“一个真实故事”的动画音乐,把学生带入到了今天我 们要学习的语境中来。让学生迅速自然地进入本节课的主题活动中,渲染了课堂 学习的氛围。

Step3 Reading (twenty-five minutes)1. Look at some pictures. While looking at them , go through several uesful exprssions and key words (two minutes)(几个关键词和短语让学生对文章熟悉起来) 2.fast reading (five minutes) Use a tape recorder, play the tape for the students.

(听力练习) a. ask them to guess the meaning of the words according to the context.(词汇学习) b.Ask the students to make a choice :True or False for some statements according to the passage.(对课文有个大致的理解)

Then ask them to read together.Be ready to answer some questions. (朗读训练然后分段回答问题) Paragraph(1-2) birds. 8.Studying Zhalong helps us learn about protecting wildlife.

Step 4 Discussion (eight minutes)T:Enjoy a flash “I am a little bird” and have a discussion in pairs. Give them a topic: what shoud./shouldn’t we do for wildlife? (Let the students to exchange their information and opinions about the different materials they have studied.) (情感教育和能力训练相结合,英语教学的目标和任务) Some suggestions: We should build more reserves and make reserves bigger. We should provide suitable homes for them. We should share the world with wildlife. We mustn’t cut down trees and forests any more. We mustn’t kill animals for their fur or feathers.
