(一)重点、难点分析(I) 1. 形容词的比较等级

在英语中,形容词和副词都是有比较等级的。分别为原级、比较级和最高级。原级指的是形容词或副词

的原形;当二者(人或物均可)进行比较时,会用比较级;当三个或三个以上的人或事物进行比较时,用最 高级。

eg. Rose is clever. (用原级)

Mary is cleverer than Rose. (用比较级) Ruth is the cleverest in our class. (用最高级) 在这一单元中,我们学习的重点是形容词的比较级。 2. 形容词比较级的形式

(1)规则变化

a. 单音节形容词及少数以-er, -ow, -ble, -ple结尾的双音节形容词,加-er,或-r构成。 如:

strong→stronger 更强壮 clever→cleverer 更聪明 simple→simpler 更简单 narrow→narrower 更窄的

able→abler 更能干的,更有才华的 brave→braver 更勇敢 wide→wider 更宽广

b. 形容词的原级以一个辅音字母结尾,其前面的元音字母发短元音时,双写这个辅音字母,然后加 -er。 如:

big→bigger 更大 hot→hotter 更热 thin→thinner 更瘦

c. 在大多数双音节和多音节形容词前加more,构成比较级。 useful→more useful 更有用的 beautiful→more beautiful 更美丽的 d. 辅音字母后以y结尾的单音节词及双音节形容词,将y

变i,加-er。

easy→easier funny→funnier happy→happier

注意:少数单音节词,前面加more构成比较级。 如:fond→more fond tired→more tired pleased→more pleased

(2)不规则变化,必须牢记

good→better bad→worse little→less ill→worse far farther/ further 3. 形容词比较级的用法

基本句式:主语+谓语(系动词)+形容词比较级+than+对比成分

eg. (1)Your jacket is longer than mine. 你的夹克比我的长。

(2)It’s colder today than it was yesterday. 今天比昨天冷。

(3)She is cleverer than any other girl in the class. 她比班上任何其他的女孩都聪明。

这句话很有意思。“any other girl”任一个其他的女孩是单数,所以我们仍视为二者进行比较,用比 较级。意思是“她是所有女孩中最聪明的。” 4. 一些特殊用法

a. old(老)的比较级和最高级有两种不同形式,意义也不同

eg. My elder sister works in a hospital. She is three years older than me.

我姐姐在医院工作。她比我大三岁。

b. far(远)的比较级也有两种不同形式,意义也不同 eg. The Palace Museum is farther from our home than the Summer Palace.

故宫比颐和园离我家远。 He went abroad for further studies. 他出国深造。

c. “名词(数词)词组+形容词比较级”结构 如:a head taller, ten minutes earlier a few steps further等

eg. My younger sister is a head shorter than I . 在这一句中,出现了两个比较级。

younger sister 小妹妹 a head shorter 矮一头 d. “形容词比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越??”,即more and more

eg. Summer is coming. It is getting hotter and hotter. 夏天来了。天气变得越来越热。

e. “the+比较级,the+比较级”表示“越??就越??”,

即the more?the more?

eg. The harder you study, the more knowledge you will get. 你学习越努力,得到的知识就越多。 (二)重点、难点分析(II) 1. Section A. 3a. (原文见5)

B: The same to you. (或I wish you the same.) A:祝你健康,B:也祝你健康,彼此彼此。 词组“the same?as?”“和??一样” eg. She is the same age as you. 她和你同年。 He works in the same shop as I do.

他和我在同一个车间干活。(I do意为I work) 2. In some ways, we look different.

different,不同的,差异的,是same的反义词。

本句译为“在一些方面,我们看上去又不同。” 3. We both have black eyes and black hair. 我们都有黑眼睛、黑头发。

both 表示“两者都”。二者在某方面一样。注意both的位置。

如:我们都是女孩。 We’re both girls.

我们两个都喜欢做同样的事。 We both like doing the same things.

我们都乐意参加聚会。 We both enjoy going to parties. 我的朋友像我一样。我们都很安静。 My friend is the same as me. We are both quiet.

4. a little 一点儿,可修饰不可数名词,也可修饰形容词比较级。

eg. (1)There is a little water in the bottle. 瓶子里有点水。 (2)I am a little taller than her. 我比她高一点儿。 5. Section A 3a. Read the letter. How are Liu Li and her sister the same and different?

Underline the things that are the same. circle the things that are different. Dear Isabelle,

4. So is my best friend. 我最好的朋友也是这样。 这是一个倒装句,表示“也是??”。

如:She is smart. So am I . 她很聪明,我也是。 I play computer well. So does he. 我计算机玩得好,他也是。

so后面用系动词be,还是助动词do/does,要根据上一句而定。

5. I like to have friends who are different from me.

“Who are different from me.”是定语从句,修饰friends,意思是,和我不同的朋友。

be different from?,与??不同。 全句译为:我愿意我的朋友和我不一样。 6. Section B. 3a.

Some friends have opposite views and interests and some like the same things. What is your
