Assignment 1: Lesson Plan
1. Class Description:
The level of the class is primary, with approx. 2~ 3year of English study at school. The learners are children, 11~13 years old. There are 10 girls and 10 boys. One of the girls (Fiona) is hard-working, and can do the work very easily. She is very lively. There are two group in the class: Group 1 and Group 2. Most of the students enjoy speaking English. But, their vocabulary is limited, so they really need to learn more words.
2. Aims:
1. Arouse students’ attention and interest 2. Activate students’ background
3. Lay the foundation for learning new knowledge
4. Do some games let them remember new words and new sentences
5. Let learners know how to express and answer “What do you do on the weekend?”
3. Skills and Language Focus:
1. New words: swimming, mountain, shopping, piano, grandparent, video
2. Phrases: go swimming, climb mountain, go shopping, play the piano, visit grandparent, watch video 3. New sentences: ----What do you do on the weekend? ----I usually/ often/ sometimes________

The learners have known the words: go, climb, play, visit, watch, weather, football,completion. The learners have known the sentence: “What is missing?”
The learners will have done this game before at least once in previous years. The learners can make simple sentences by themselves.

Maybe some students too shy, I should encourage them
If students can’t hear my word clearly, I must repeat and speak loudly
Maybe some students forgets the game, I will give an example in the activity myself. Maybe students forget the phrases, I must speak it again.

How are you today? Review: Let’s begin our lesson. First, do some review. 1. Question: What did we learn in the last lesson? Who can tell me? Put up your hand 2. Check: After student’s answer, write down the words: “go, climb, paly, visit, watch ”on the blackboard, then give point to answer more of group, after then read the words two times New words: Now we’re going to do something new. 1. Look at the PPT 2. Guess the meaning of new words: swimming, mountain, shopping, piano, grandparent, video 3. Explain the meaning and learn new words 4. Read after teacher 5. Check students one by one Rationale(理由) Arouse students’ attention and interest Check and consolidate old knowledge Set a context, stimulate students’ learning interest effectively and learn new words T-S(4ms) T-S(5ms) T-S(4ms) T-S(4ms) New phrases: Let’ s do some new phrase 1. Look at the PPT 2. Guess the Chinese meaning of phrase: go swimming, climb mountain, go shopping, paly the piano, visit grandparent, watch video 3. Explain the phrase and learn new phrase 4. Read after teacher Game: Teacher show a group of picture First, let the students read it two times. Then, ask students close their eyes, teacher hide one picture, students open their eyes, and ask students “What is missing?” After then, students must quickly and stand up answer the question. Finally, scores to the correct of the group. Teacher do example two times in this game, then students one by one instead of teacher work ask “What's missing?” One student speak two times. New words: usually, often, sometimes 1. Write the words on the blackboard 2. Explain the meaning, read after teacher 3. Check the students one by one New sentence: 1. Write the sentences “I usually/ often/ sometimes_________” on the blackboard 2. Ask students “Can you make this sentence completion? You can think about the phrases Set a context, stimulate students’ learning interest effectively and learn new words Invite students in the game and practice the new words and the new phrases Learn new words Activate students’ background and learn new sentences T-S(5ms) T-S(4ms) T-S(3ms) New sentences: 1.
