Anybody running a company knows that a well—planned conference can greatly improve performance of that business. The main reason for this is that it takes your employees away from the daily workplace and offers them somewhere fresh for a short time. However, unless the conference is well thought out it will not have the best results and you will have wasted a great deal of money. Here are some tips for you.

The first step is to find the right place. Can your employees easily reach the conference center? Is it near a railway station? Is it close to a good, fast road? Has it plenty off suitable parking space? If you are going to choose a hotel, then perhaps the hotel has cheaper rates at weekends or,if it is in a popular tourist area, midweek rates may be cheaper.Furthermore, you need to think whether there is a bathroom. After a day’s meeting, maybe your employees would like to have a hot water bath.Or maybe there are other needs to satisfy depending on your employees’ taste.

Another important requirement is food and drink.Breakfast is a time when people can relax before work begins, but you may not want a long break for lunch in the middle of the day.Buffet(自助餐) lunches are very popular for this reason. Then there is dinner, which most employees consider a reward for a day’s hard work!

Whatever your needs are,it is essential(基本的)to think ahead if you want a successful conference.

News has come from America that we shall soon have no more children. The idea that children are different sorts of people from adults, says Mr. Neil Postman has not always been around. In medieval (世纪) times most children did not go to school, but joined in adult life entertainment.

Then printed books were invented; and became common (before that, the only book were copied by hand, and there were very few of them). With printing, all families could have books: this meant that adults could get knowledge children could not, since the children had to read first. So some knowledge became unsuitable for children. They were no longer just small grownups, but had to learn to become grown-ups.

All this, says Mr. Postman is now changing. Printing created childhood, but television is destroying it once again. No one needs to learn to watch television. All knowledge is there for everyone to have. We are going to return to a medieval life-style, and children are once more going to be a part of the adult world.

A. printing makes it easy to tell children from adults B. printing makes people's life hard

C. children can' t have become adults since printing was invented D. people will go back to the Medieval Times

74. After television is widely used, the notion(观念) of children

A. will not be popular B. will disappear in our life

C. will be remembered in people's mind D. will not be fit for modem society 75. This passage indicates ( = suggests) that________.

22. B. 注意词组prefer A to B结构在本句中的应用。 23. 英语中各种饮品可以和不定冠词连用,如a coffee, a beer等,它们还可以有复数形式,如two coffees, three beers 等。 24.

可以先去掉没有用的部分they had been dreaming of, 因为这是the place的定语从句。在空白后就剩下了需要引导词的句子 they thought was the place ,显然was缺乏主语,引导词要同时有两个作用,选择 what, 可以把what 拆开成n.+that引导定语从句的形式: they reached a place that they thought was the place. 29.

Wild flowers of different flowers of different colors are growing all over the hills and around the lake.

32. B. It can’t be true. 34. D. be of +抽象名词 = be +形容词。

35. B. make sacrifices to do做出牺牲做某事 ; make contributions 后接介词to 。

“The idea that children are different sorts of people from adults(成年人),says Mr. Neil Postman has not always been around.”

73.A 推理题。 74.A 细节题。

75.A 推理题。 TV。 76.see sb. do/doing sth.

81.my从逻辑上应是her。
