equal,such,similar(ly),different(ly),other,otherwise,likewise等)表示照应关系。

如:爥A爥+but(或yet,however,nevertheless等)+爥B爥:预示B的语义要在A的语义基础上发 生转折,甚至会与A相反。

eventhough(或though,evenif,although)+爥A爥,B:预示A与B之间是让步关系,即“虽然A,但是B” 例 Fortunately,however,theincreasingpowerandorganizationofthetradeunions, atleastinallskilledtrades,enabledtheworkmentomeetonequaltermsthemanagersofthecompanieswho

employedthem.

常见顺接连词:and,indeed,almost.even,similarly,like,besides,further,moreover,mostimpor tant,inaddition,furthermore,too,also,aswellas,both…and…,notonly…butalso…,either…or…,

neither…nor… Inaddition,farmoreJapaneseworkersexpresseddissatisfactionwiththeirjobs

thandidtheircounterpartsinthe10othercountriessurveyed.

因果关联的连词:because,since,as,for,dueto,inthat,owingto,forthereasonthat,so,there — 3—

temsoffoodproduction,allchangedassocietiesevolved.

Forexample,whenanAmericanusestheword“friend”,theculturalimplica

tionsofthewordmaybequitedifferentfromthoseithasinthevisitorslanguageandculture.

Thisyear,thankstothecunningoftheagencysinterplanetarynavigation,thereshouldbefire

worksintheheavens,too.

A.DeepImpactsscientists,though,arenotjusttryingtocreateanexpensivedisplayofpatrioticfire works. (2)

sive,anditcantdomuchfor,say,CentralAsiaorotherinlandregions.

必记代词:所有人称代词及其宾格形式;指示代词this,that,one,these,those等。

例 ThehighrewardforeducationwhichisdeeplyimbeddedinChinesecultureandthewillingnessto

workveryhardtogainadvancementareothernoteworthycharacteristicsoftheirs. — 4— A.Thisexplainswhysomanydescendantsofuneducatedlaborshavesucceededinbecomingdoctors,

lawyers,andotherprofessionals.
