Dreaming of summer picnics filled with family and fun? We’ve come up with 4 of the top picnic areas across the US.

Cumberland Islands, Georgia

Just a few hours south of Savannah, this national seashore is a picnic paradise. It’s an unspoiled place in the Deep South with over 50 miles of hiking trails (小径). Covered in Spanish moss, the trails are lined with trees and since it’s still a rural area the stars line up for a spectacular show at night and creates the perfect evening starlit picnic opportunity.

Giant Park, Chicago

If you are looking for delicious food in Chicago, go for a taste of a 20-day, lake-front, foodie festival that happens in October each year. Grab a spot near the fountain to enjoy your picnic, appreciate the city scenery and lake views and relax with family and friends. If you are there on July 4th, be sure to plan the day to include the fireworks display at the Navy Pier.

Cranberry Islands, Maine

Here, you’ll enjoy natural picnics with island views. The islands are a delightful group of

islands about 20 minutes offshore from Acadia National Park. You can visit the islands by private boat or ferry (渡船) service. Bring a picnic basket along for the ride as it’s a romantic picnic area to take your special someone or go for a family outing to visit the islands.

Big Sur, California

I need to arrive at work at 6 am, which means I have to leave my house at 5 am. Yes, it is quite difficult to wake up at 4 am. Our firm arranges for cab drivers to pick up employees from their homes before 5:30 am. But since we don’t have consistent cabs, the drivers end up having to roam around to pick up the fifteen people.

An employee comes to the office early on a regular basis. He usually gets picked up first by the drivers. Since he usually travels at the same time, he happens to know the addresses of most of the employees. So he ends up helping the drivers pick up the rest employees. He patiently directs

the cab drivers while also calling each employee to inform them the cab is a few minutes away from their residence.

Yesterday, I was wondering how this person can do this every day, without complaint, even though it’s neither part of his job, nor giving him any added advantage. I thought: “This is a person who definitely deserves a thank-you note.” So I just wrote a card to him yesterday evening, telling him that lie has a great attitude and that all the employees really appreciate his act of service. Then, I put the note in an envelope, along with some chocolates.

Today, when I was supposed to hand my envelope to him, I felt a rush of fear and confusion pass over me. Maybe it was because I had never spoken to him or I was uncertain about how he would react—whether he would doubt my intention. However, when he was getting out of the cab, I thought: “I know my intention is good, and that’s the reason why I should give it to him. What he thinks of it is his own decision. I should do what I feel is right.” So, with my heart beating fast, I handed the envelope to him. And now, I feel happy! Maybe I made someone’s day today. 25. When does the employee referred to probably get in the taxi every day? A. At 4 am. am.

26. What problem do the taxi drivers face?

A. The employees live far away from one another. B. They always let some employees miss their taxis.

C. The employees cannot leave their homes on time. D. They don’t know where to pick up the employees.

27. What’s the main idea of Paragraph 3?

A. Why the employee deserves a thank-you note. B. How the author was moved by the employee’s act.

C. The author would express thanks to the employee. D. The employee has a good attitude towards life.

C
