一、单词及短语要点梳理

1.debate (v./ n.) 争论,辩论

拓展: open a debate 开始讨论 under debate 在讨论中

a heated debate 一场激烈的讨论 a debate on 关于......的辩论

易混辨析:debate / argue / discuss / quarrel

debate指正式的辩论,通常在一位裁判的主持下,按照一定的规则进行,双方各自申述理由

argue 指说理、论证,侧重于摆出事实 ,试图说服对方,也可能是激烈地交换意见,以致争吵,常用结构是argue sb.about/over sth.

discuss重在交换意见,进行讨论

quarrel指的是因为对某事不喜欢或者强烈不满而发生的争吵 例1-1(★★★)根据句意,用debate / argue / discuss / quarrel的正确形式填空

① Let’s the detail of the contract tomorrow. ② He knew it was useless to with his father. ? Linda had a big with her husband yesterday. ④ They hotly whether to accept these proposals or not.

2.With me are... 和我在一起的是......

本句为完全倒装句,介词短语with me 放在句首,后面是完全倒装。 句型拓展

(1)here和there位于句首时的倒装。此时谓语通常是be动词和come,go,等。

(2)一些副词和介词短语如away,down,in,fall,out,over,up,in the room等位于句首时,其后完全倒装。这类倒装句的谓语通常是come,in,lie,fall等。

(3)表语置于句首的倒装句。该类倒装是把表语的分词、形容词、介词短语提到句首引起的倒装。 用倒装句式完成句子

类似句型拓展基本构成:

It + be动词+形容词(important, easy...)+ to do... It +be动词+no(use,good) + doing...

It +be动词+形容词(possible,strange,important...)+that... It +be动词+名词短语(a pity, a fact, no wonder...)+ that... 单句填空

7.cut back on (cut down on)削减,减少,缩减 短语拓展

8.credit n. 赞扬,称赞;认可;信用;信誉;学分 归纳拓展

选择合适的词填空(surprise; relief; delight; credit)

9.suggest...(should+动词原形)

本句是suggest(建议)引导的宾语从句,从句用虚拟语气“should+动词原形”,should可省略。

suggest doing sth.建议做某事

suggest sth. to sb.向某人建议某事/某物

注: suggest作“暗示,表明”讲时,所接的从句用陈述语气。 单句填空

10. 主语do/does/did+动词原形

句中的do是一种强调的用法,在肯定句的谓语动词之前,可用助动词do,does,did来强调动词,这个时候谓语动词要用动词原形,do,does,did译为“的确”。

11. find+宾语+宾补 发现...

find的用法和see,hear,feel等词的用法相似,常见结构:find sb./sth. doing/done/adj.,其中充当宾语补足语的非谓语动词的选择应根据其与宾语的主动或被动关系来确定。 单句填空
