A.Main 1dea

Fearing global warming, scientists around the world worry that higher temperatures could turn the large ice sheet in Antarctica into water, causing a rise in sea levels worldwide. However, the American magazine Science published a surprising finding

that challenged the theory. According to the magazine, the ice sheets in west Antarctica are in fact becoming thicker. This is because the warmer temperatures bring more water into the atmosphere and this will result in more snowfalls over the polar ice caps.

Global Warming and Its consequences

Global warming results from: greenhouse gases or man-made gases, especially carbon dioxide. According to popular theories, global warming results in:
