When the girl recovered from the shock, she called 110. Luckily, there was a police patrol car nearby. So the girl in the police car and they drove in the direction where the thieves escaped. Twenty minutes later, they found the car waiting the thieves escaped. Twenty minutes later, they found the car waiting at a busy crossroad for the traffic lights to turn green. 自主学习与远程教育

1.自主(autonomous)学习与远程教育 2.自主学习与合作(collaborative)学习 3.你自己的学习情况

Autonomous learning is an important learning style in distance education. It is an essential skill for distance learners because they study alone most of the time. They do not meet their tutors or classmates very often. However, distance learners can learn a lot from each other. So autonomous learning and collaborative learning go hand in hand. I am a distance learner. I have to do most learning tasks by myself. Meanwhile we have group activities every two weeks to complete some learning tasks or share experiences. I have found both forms of learning very helpful. 城市生活比乡村生活好吗?

1.有一种观点认为:城市生活比乡村生活好 2.你对这种观点的看法 3.你的结论

Some people believe that town life is better than country life. I don’t agree with this. Town life can be convenient to us in many aspects. For example, you can move around easily, shopping can be more fun in a big shopping mall and you can enjoy a more colorful nightlife. But there are also many disadvantages. It is not easy to park your car. It costs more to live in town. To name but a few is enough. Therefore, I prefer country life. How to keep healthy

1、哪一种是你最喜欢的交通方式 2、阐述你的理由 3、作出结论

Nowadays, more and more people know the importance of keeping healthy. Without a healthy body, we can do nothing. For me, there are three main ways to keep healthy.

First, it is necessary to keep a balanced diet, which is the basis of good health. It is better for us to have more fruit and vegetables everyday. Secondly, it is important to take regular exercises, such as swimming, jogging and so on. Last but not least, it is essential to keep in a good mood. Relaxation and entertainment are ways to renew our spirits and release our stress.

When we make healthy habits a part of our everyday life, we are bound to keep healthy.

My Favorite means of transportation (我最喜欢的交通方式) 1、哪一种是你最喜欢的交通方式 2、阐述你的理由 3、作出结论

In a modern city, there are many means of transportation, such as subway, taxi, bus and so on. But my favorite means of transportation is by bike.

First, riding a bike is good for keeping healthy. I spend one hour riding a bike to my office on my working day, and I think it is a good form of physical exercised. Secondly, it is money-saving. Recently, the private car drivers always complain the price of gas is higher and higher, but if you ride a bike, it will cost you nothing. Thirdly, it is beneficial for protecting the environment, so it is a ―green‖ from of transportation.

Therefore, although it has some disadvantages, I like ridding a bike best. My home

1.描述你家的位置 2.各个房间的功能

3.表达你对你们家居条件的态度

My home is a newly-built house in the north of the city. We have three rooms in addition to the kitchen and bathroom. The first room is the main room or living room. It is for having meals, relaxing, reading, watching television and so on. It is the busiest room in the house. The second room is my daughter’s bedroom. She sleeps and dresses there. The third room belongs to my wife and me. It seems quite spacious because we have little furniture. We sleep, prepare lessons and generally relax there. I think my home is cozy and I like my home. My favorite TV programme

CCTV today offers a great variety of programmes to meet different needs and tastes. For example, the weather forecast, serials, films, sports and so on. My favorite TV programme, however, is the news.

There are several points that are worth mentioning. For one thing, it covers news about important events both at home and abroad. Besides, the news it provides is timely and reliable. Finally, it broadcasts in the evening during the so-called ―golden time‖. It saves me much time reading through newspapers for current affairs.

In short, watching the news on CCTV has become part of my daily life. My Childhood

I grew up in a small village. I am the second child of the family, and my sister is the eldest. Our house is on the main street of the village so I always saw a lot of people on the streets There were farmers, fishermen, and a few merchants in the village. My sister and I used to play with the next-door children; their father is an elementary school teacher. Sometimes when we played together in the house we made so much noise that my mother wanted us to play outside, so we went to the seashore to look for crabs and clams, and pretty seashells, too. Also, we enjoyed running on the beach chasing each other. On breezy days we used to enjoy flying kites on the beach. When I look back on my early life in the village, I feel I had a happy childhood.

A Pleasant Memory of My Childhood

I am … years old now, but the recollection of the fun and amusement is like a sweet dream.

One Sunday, our family went to climb the beautiful Shushan Hill. My father told my elder sister and me that the first one to get to the top would be given to a toy. We jumped with joy. We started to run up. At first I took the lead. A few minutes later I was breathless and my sister was ahead of me. The soft masses of the waving grass, and the drowsy, balmy air all sent their warm invitation for me to rest. But I followed my thirst for the toy and continued climbing. At last I reached the top first.

There we enjoyed the fascination view and had a picnic. At about two o’clock we danced our way down the hill with joy in our hearts, and I felt happier than the others because I got a toytrain. The Man I Respect Most

My father is the man I respect most. Stern as he may be, he never fails to show his care and consideration. Once I broke a neighbor's window. Seeing nobody around, I ran away immediately. When Dad came home, he noticed my uneasiness and asked me what had happened.

I could only tell him the truth. Rather than scold me, he praised my honesty

and then encouraged me to apologize to our neighbor. I learned from this episode that not only does Dad take care of our health but he also teaches us how to be good citizens. How lucky I am to have such a good father! The Advantage of Bicycle Riding

Bicycle riding has many advantages. It is the least expensive way of traveling apart from walking. If you travel by bicycle, you don't have to buy gas as you must when you drive cars. Besides, it develops much less mechanical troubles than a car.

Bicycle riding is especially good for health. It is good exercise. If you go to work by riding a bicycle instead of driving or taking a bus, you can have a better chance of getting enough exercise you need everyday. Bicycling is also good for our environment. It is less noisy and does not pollute the air. I am glad to have ridden a bicycle to school when I studied in the high school.

My first Job

My first job was at a cramming school. It was three years ago when I just graduated from junior high school and finished the entrance examination. Since I had nothing to do that summer, I decided to find a job, tasting the joy of independence.

I was responsible for answering the telephone and taking the message. I worked eight hours a day, six days a week. The work was not difficult nor heavy to me and I guess I did well. The most delighted thing was perhaps that I could spend the money I earned all by myself. Work and Play

Work and play do not contradict each other; in fact, they complement each other. As the saying goes, \life burdened with work leads you nowhere, for you would get tired and bored with your daily routine work. On the other hand, proper recreation will relieve the tension and discomfort of our monotonous life because it offers you various ways to let out your pent-up emotions.

What I usually do to relax after school is jogging and seeing movies. Usually I don't spare time for exercise, but I value the physical education class at school. Jogging several rounds in the field certainly relieves the day's pressure. On weekends, I'll catch the morning movie for my visual enjoyment. I feel revived and energetic for another week's work-load. 回复度假邀请的感谢信 Dear Jenny:

Thank you for inviting me to holiday with you, which was what I had been expecting all the time. I would have gladly accepted your invitation, but now I am afraid I can't. Yesterday I received a letter from my parents in which they said they hadn't seen me for long and hoped therefore I could be back at home for a while. They missed me not without a reason because ever since the start of summer vacation I have been working part-time in Hangzhou as a bookstore clerk and have not had much time I could call my own. Much as I hope to go to Shanghai to have an eyeful of the beautiful sunset with you, chat with you and take a lot of pictures with you, I'm obliged to go home. I hope you can understand this. I have long been absent from home and sometimes I felt lonesome. I believe you have the same experience too. Thank you again and, most important, don't forget to let me know and take me along when in future days you are inclined to see some good movies, attend parties and dances, go picnicking, of whatever. May you have a happy holiday! Sincerely yours, Sarah. TV and My Family

Many people think that TV can't teach you anything and most TV programs are just silly. True, there are a lot of shows that are anything but good. But if you watch, you will find that TV is still a powerful educational tool. With the emergence of the public TV in our country we now have more helpings of food for the mind. Take the travelogue %us not only with vicarious travel experience but also with the histories and cultures of various nations. Spec live, what they wear and how they talk even though I can’t afford to travel to those countries. My family often sit together to watch a program and discuss it afterward. Sometimes my parents ask us what we would do in a similar situation and this gives us the opportunity to rethink. We should not forget that TV can be an excellent teacher. In this era of mass media we believe that TV, if guided into the right channel, can really fire our imagination and contribute to family cohesion.

Taking Exercise is Good For Our Health【运动对我们的健康有益】 Taking exercise is good for our health. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. By taking exercise, we can relax our body and mind. At the same time, we can harden our muscle and have a good figure. If we don't take exercise for a long time, we may easily fall sick.

I enjoy several outdoor sports. Swimming in the sea is my favorite. Because there are too many people in a swimming pool and the water is always dirty, I prefer to swim in the sea.

Playing badminton is also fun. I can always find a place in the park for playing badminton. Besides, I enjoy jogging in the morning. Sometimes, I jog with my parents in the park.

Sports help everyone to keep healthy, happy, and efficient. So I pay special attention to games, especially table-tennis. Table tennis is my favorite game. I play it almost every day.

Table-tennis is an ideal game us because it brings the whole body into action. It strengthens our muscles, expands our lungs, promotes the circulation of the blood, and causes a healthy action of the skin. Besides, it is very amusing and does not cost us much money. Table-tennis is very moderate; it is not so rough as football. It is an indoor game and can be played even on rainy days. Thus, it is my favorite kind of exercise. 信

1. 童年的梦想 2.目前的情况 3.对未来的希望 Dear Jennifer,

Thank you for telling me about yourself. I’d like to let you know

more about me too.

As a child, I wanted to be a detective/doctor/lawyer. I thought a

detective was really great because he could solve criminal cases to do justice. But my dream never came true. I’m now a librarian, dealing with books every day. The work is nothing trilling, but I like it. Since there are more and more electronic materials, I hope that we will have an e-library built soon.

Looking forward to hearing from you again.

Yours, Ian

3.如何实现你的理想

Everybody has his dream for his career in the future. He or she

might want to be a teacher, a doctor, a scientist, a sportsperson and so on. To tell you the truth, my ideal job is in business. The idea came into being when I was a child.

With the development of market economy, there are many

prosperous opportunities in business. I like reading stories about some successful businessmen such as Bill Gates, Li Jiacheng, etc. I believe I will be a man like them some day.

Mow, I am majoring in Computering. I must study hard to get

myself qualified for my future job.
