What Can We Do to Prevent Poverty

Nowadays, the issue of poverty has caused more and more people’s concerns. It is widely seen that a great number of people still live without enough food to eat and a safe house to prevent them from the wind and rain outside. Individually speaking, some measures can be taken to prevent it.

First of all, it is practicable for us to donate the old things we don’t need to those in poverty. In this way, not only can we make a contribution to the poor, but also we can make full use of those things. As an old saying goes that kill two birds with one stone, it is absolutely a wise decision we made.

Secondly, the volunteering is another good choice. It is a very precious experience for those people who have a lot of spared time to assist the poor in building a new house, spreading scientific knowledge, planting and so on.

Finally, an immediate measure should be taken by the government before things are getting worse. Any government, blind to the poverty, will pay for it greatly. Financial aid is important for the poor. Besides, the government should send a group intellectuals to the poor region and call on the graduated college students to serve them.

What has been listed above are some major measures we can do. Of course, there are still many other ways to prevent them from poverty. We should always bear in mind that a beautiful world is built by the unity of everyone’s strength.
