(2) Ss can greet others with “Good afternoon”.

(3) Ss learn to say “Nice to meet you.” when they first meet someone and answer with “Nice to meet you, too.”

Step 1 Greetings

T: Good morning/afternoon!

Ss: Good morning/afternoon!

Step 2 Chant

Good morning!

Good morning!

Good! Good! Good morning!

Morning! Morning! Good morning!

Step 3 “Nice to meet you.”

(1) T shows a picture of Miss White.

T: Good morning! I’m Miss White.

Ss: Good morning! Miss White.

T: Nice to meet you.

Ss: .

T: You should say “Nice to meet you, too”.

(2) Ss read after T: Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, too.

(3) T: Nice to meet you (reaching out a hand).

S: Nice to meet you, too (reaching out a hand).

T and S shake hands.

T invites as many Ss as possible.

(4) Ss practice the dialogue with their partner.

Step 4 Let’s talk

(1) T shows the picture. Ss guess who the woman is.

Answer: Mike’s mum.

(2) T plays the video. Ss follow.

(3) Ss act the dialogue in groups.

Step 5 Let’s play

T shows the picture of Zoom and Zip.

T: Good morning/ afternoon, XXX. This is Zoom.

S: Good morning/ afternoon, Miss Lin. This is Zip.

T: (put on the cap of Zoom) Nice to meet you.

S: Nice to meet you, too.

Ss play in pairs.

Step 6 Homework

本节课的教学内容较少,主要教授“Nice to meet you.”以及Unit 2 Colours Good afternoon. This is _______. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too.

“Nice to meet you, too.”的用法,学生在“nice”的发音上,容易将n发成m,需要不断强调和提醒。学生在理解meet you 的连读上也有些问题。在进行对话练习的时候,学生不能记住“Nice to meet you.”,需要在老师的提醒下才能说出,因此我布置了背诵对话的作业,希望学生能在课后多读多练。
