Unit 5 I’m watching TV 第一课时教学设计

一、本课教学内容分析

1.语言功能项目:谈论或询问人们正在做什么,

2.语法结构:The Present Progressive Tense,

3.语言目标:掌握 What are you doing?等句式及其回答。

二、教学重点和难点

1、重点:词汇——read, clean ,talk on the phone, apartment

语言结构——What am I doing?

What are you doing?

What is he / she /it doing?

What are they doing?

及其回答,并注意动词现在分词的变化规则。

2、难点:现在进行时的结构。

教学过程:(第一课时)

Section A (1a–1c)

Step1. Warming up and Lead-in

1.Greet Ss as usual, tell them what they are going to learn today: The Present Progressive Tense,

2.Act out some activities to lead in and teach the new words.

eg. open the door. T: – Ss:–You are open the door. T: –What am I doing? Ss: –You are clean the

blackboard.

read a book T:- What am I doing? Ss:--You are read a book.

talk on the phone T:- What am I doing? Ss: You are talkon the phone New words: read clean talk on the phone

3. Ask students some questions.

T: What are you doing? Student A: –I am listening.

T: What is Student A doing? Ss: –He is listening.

T: What are you doing? Student B: –I am writing.

T: What is student B doing? Ss:–She is writing.

4. Show some pictures to the students to present other sentence structures: What is he / she /it doing? --He/She/It is…

What are they doing?—They are…

In this way to revise some names of activities.

Step2 Match work (P25:1a)

(1) Show a picture with an apartment to the Ss and ask: What is this?–It’s an apartment.

Teach apartment / happy.

(2) Show the picture on Page 25 to the Ss and say, This is a happy apartment. There

are many people in it. Today is Sunday. Many people are at home.Now, look at the pictures.Work in pairs to ask and answer questions like this:

S1:What is the boy in picture e doing?

S2:He is talking on the phone.

(3) Ask Ss to match each word or phrase with one of the pictures quickly. Then check the answer. (d–a–b–c–f–e)

Step3 Listening (P25:1b)

(1) Point out the names of the people.

T: I’m a member of this apartment. Let me introduce the neighbors to you. (show

the pictures to them) Jenny Dave Mary John

(2) Listen

T: What are these people doing? Listen to the recording and write the number of

the activity each person is doing.

(3) Check the answers. (2–4–1)

(4) Pairwork

T: Suppose you are one of them. Make a dialogue like this:

B: –I’m

(5) Invite some pairs to act out their conversations

Step4. Guessing game

This is an oral review of the vocabulary and other target language.

(1) Let one student does an activity and the others guess what he / she is doing?

(2) Guessing Game.

Show some pictures to the students and let them guess:

What’s he / she /it doing? He / She /It is …

What are they doing? They are…

Step5. Conclusion

T Concludes what have learnt

1.new words:read, clean, talk on the phone, apartment, happy

2.sentence structures: what+ be (am/are/ is)+ 主语 +doing?-- 主语+be(am/ are/ is) + v-ing (注:be的形式由主语的数决定)

3.现在分词的构成

Step6. Homework

1.要求:根据以下示例编对话.

Model:Lucy— read What is Lucy doing? --She is reading.

(1) Mary— eat dinner

(2) Linda— talk on the phone

(3) David— clean the room

(4) The twins(双胞胎)— watch TV

(5) Sam— do homework
