第四部分：书面表达 第一节 情景作文 This morning I saw something interesting on the bus to school. As usual when the bus came, there were already many people waiting. As soon as the door opened, a little boy made his way onto the bus before an old woman could get on it. When I got on the bus, I found the boy sitting comfortably on a seat reserved for seniors. The old woman was standing beside him. Such impolite behavior caused great dissatisfaction among the passengers. However, what he did later surprised us all. Saying the seat didn’t feel cold any more, the boy stood up and helped the old woman to sit. Obviously, the boy got on the bus first to warm up the seat for the old woman. The thoughtful boy made me realize that there are many ways that we can help others and we shouldn’t judge a person based only on what we see.

第二节 开放作文 (one possible version)

In the picture, two men are building walls. While the one on the left is making the base long and flat, the one on the right has made his wall tall and narrow. In the end, the wall built by the first man is much taller than the one by the second man.

The comparison of the two walls shows that sometimes final success comes from a good base rather than a seemingly fast start. Like what is shown in the picture, the wall with the long base made by the man on the left is taller and wider than the one made by the man on the right because it can support many more layers of bricks.

The picture is a reminder to students who may be slow in their learning now that a solid foundation for learning will achieve success in the long run. Those who are better than us now are not necessarily going to be the final winners. It is the foundation and continuous work that count.
