◆ 教材分析 1. Analysis of the Students

The students of Grade 9 have mastered certain vocabularies,expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of self-teaching and working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English. 2. Analysis of Teaching Content

Lesson 34 is the fourth lesson in Unit 6, Book 5.This unit focus on the subject Movie and Theatre, Students cares about the subject because it is close to everyone. Lesson 34 mainly talks about the second part of The fisherman and the goldfish. To master the moral: don’t be greedy and learn to be grateful. ◆ 教学目标 【知识目标】

1. To master the words : coast, handbag, servant, guard, queen, crash, among,mad,serve.

2. To master the phrases: go on/off, at once, what else, right now, on the coast, towards. 【能力目标】

Improve the students’ ability of speaking, listening, reading and writing. To be able to talk about the story in English. 【情感目标】

Step 1. Warm-up

1. Enjoy the video of The Fisherman and the Goldfish. 2. Free talk:

Which characters in the play do you like? Which do you dislike? Why? By the movie. Step 2. Presentation

1. Guess: What happened in the last lesson? Can you guess what will happen in this lesson?

2. Explain the new words.

3. Listen and answer the question: What did the fisherman’s wife want to be at last? 4. Check the answer.

5. Read the lesson and tick the correct answers. (1) What does the wife not ask for?

(2) What happens in the end when the wife keeps asking for more things? She gets everything she wants. The fisherman leaves her. Everything is taken away.

towards为介词,“向,往,朝着……的方向”。 no problem:同意、默许,意为“没问题”。

在日常用语中,当同意某人的观点或接受他人的请求时,可以用Of course./No

problem./Certainly.等回答。在美式英语中,No problem.可用来回答感谢,意为“不用谢,别客气,没什么”,相当于You’re welcome.或Not at all。 go off在本文中意为“(灯)熄灭”,其反义词组为go on。 go off还可意为“(食物)变质,(质量)下降,(闹钟等)发出响声”。 What / How 感叹句结构:

(1) What a/an +形容词+名词+主语+谓语

(2) What +形容词+不可数名词+主语+谓语 (3) What +形容词+复数名词+主语+谓语 (4) How + 形容词/副词+主语+谓语

too much在这里意为“太过分,太糟糕,太不像话”。 too much还意为“太多”,修饰不可数名词。 eg: They're too much! 他们太过分!

1. Listen and follow to the tape.

2. Fill in the blanks with correct prepositions or adverbs on page 89. (1) A man is running ______________ us! What’s happening? (2) All the lights in the building go ___ after 11:00 p.m. (3) The lights came back ___ when the actor went on stage. (4) A: Where is your grandfather?

4. Read the passage again, complete the passage with the correct forms of the words
