According to a survey that was conducted among 1000 cell phone users to dis cover users’ response to prize messages, 69.5% of them who received such prize messages have given response to these messages. And the results fully disclose that increasing number of cell phone users are exposed to the prize messages and some of them were swindled out of much money. Therefore, cellphone users should do sth to prevent these tragedies. From my point of view, not noly should phone users strengthen their awareness concerning prize and sweepstake messages but also should they take some pragmatic measures.

As far as phone users’ awareness concerned , one the one hand , they should strengthen their awareness of self information protection. No matter what kind of messages if they ask you for your individual information such as your ID number ,your birthday your credit card number even password and so on, you should be cautious and take some measures to prove it to be true or not. For example , Mr.zhang received prize message from Voice of China of zhejiang TV, which said that Mr.zhang had been chosen as the lucky one to win a big prize of 8800 yuan and an Apple laptop. But to get these awards , Mr.zhang need to type in his name ,ID number, phone number, credit card number. Mr zhang doubted about that and called Zhejiang TV and found that Zhejiang TV did not send such messages at all. On the other hand , cellphone users should also be cautious about temptation and should not keep mind of fluke . As the saying goes that There is no such thing as a free lunch in the world. How could this happen that a big prize fall on you while you haven’t done anything? Some low-educated people such as the old and middle-aged women are extremely vulnerrable to these ttempatations and frauds. Several days ago, when a mother of quadruplets called wudanli, who comes from tianxin village in guangzhou ,was discharged from hospital with her three surviving babies ,she received a message that she was eligible for a 12500yuan financial subsidy. Because of taking chances,she followed the instructions of the message , sending out her credit card and ID number , and finally found that her 50000yuan disappeared.

In addition, some pragmatic measures should be taken. On the one hand ,to avoid these illegal messages ,you download some softwares to protect your cell phone from these messages such as 360 security guard , tecent phone housekeeper who can serve to intercept any illegal messages and calls. On the other hand , if you receive some illegal messages , you can choose to ignore them or report them to the police 。

From what has been illustrated above , through strengthening relavant awareness and taking some effective measure, any cellphone user can protect himself or herself from prize and sweepstake messages.
