Rechargeable Sealed Lead Acid Battery

The details:

1. Rechargeable Sealed Lead Acid Battery Features:

1. Fully sealed: with cover and pole double sealed design to prevent leakage of electrolysis and the reliability of safe-valve prevent oxygen and dust from outside enter into the battery

2. Free maintenance: with the performance of water reproduce and high sealed reaction efficiency, it no needs any compensation of acid and water during use

3. Safety: without acid leaked, reliable gas pressure venting system and equipped with anti-explosion device, which make the battery safer during use

4. Long cycle life: abut-erosion Pb-Camulti-alloy,ABS plastics material and high sealed reaction efficiency assure the Resden battery’s long service life

5. High performance:

(1) higher energy density at a long duration discharge helping to design equipment to be smaller, lighter and more cost effective

(2) High charge and discharge performance, the self-discharge is controlled under 2% per month

(3) High recovery performance: the battery may be recharged to recover the capacity with in 30 days when being deeply discharged

(4) With the good coherence of internal resistance, capacity and floating charge, there is no equalizing charge required during use

6. Temperature adaptability: the battery can be used safely

7. Convenient and safety: the battery has charged with load before leaving the factory, without free electrolysis, it allowed to be placed breadthways and transported by sea and railway as nonhazardous material

8. Economical: with high performance, long service life and lowest maintenance cost to offer consumers the most economical products.

Parts, material and function

3. D I S C H A R G E

1.Out-off voltage of discharge

The battery should never be discharged to less than the predetermined final voltage. Other wise, over discharge would cause failure to recover capacity, for best efficiency and longest service life, discharge should be within the range of 0.05C to 2C.the final discharge voltage with different current rate as table 1.

(Table 1) Discharge current and final discharge voltage Parts

Material Function Plate Anti-erosion Pb-Ca alloy and Activated substances Provide enough capacity to keep high performance, reduce the Self-discharge

Separator A.G .M Separator Prevent short – circuit and the dropping out of activated substances reduce the internal resistance etc Electrolyte Dilute sulphuric acid (or add gel) Provide ion conductor, it is the main affection factor of capacity and service life of battery Container &Cover ABS plastic The container of the battery, resistant to corrosion, heat and mechanical power Collector Corrosion - resistant Calcium alloy Parallel all the plates; To keep the capacity and conduct current Vent cap Ethylene propylene terpolymer To Keep battery’s internal pressure and prevent the entry of air and impurity Terminal Copper coated with silver Connect battery with environment and conduct current

2.Discharge capacity

(1) The relation of discharge capacity and Discharge Current.

The large discharge rate makes the lower capacity.

(2) Temperature effect

Capacity of a battery is subjected to the influence of ambient temperature .Too low temperature (below -15℃/5℉.)may reduce the available capacity, too high temperature(over 50℃/122℉.)may bring about thermal run-away and damage the battery.

4.C H A R G E

1.The operation of floating charge

Charge voltage: 2.25V~2.30V/cell,the maximum current should not be larger than 0.4C10。

The floating charge current should lower than 2mA /AH.(25℃).

2. Cycle use

Charge voltage: 2.4V/cell, the maximum current should not be larger than 0.4C10.

3. Temperature compensation

The chemical reaction speeds up with the increasing of the temperature and reduces speed with the reducing of the temperature. In actual use in indoor applications (5~35℃),it is not necessary to compensate the charging voltage in order to prevent overcharge or short charge, When the battery’s operated at lower than 5℃or higher than 35℃,it is recommended to compensate the charging voltage as specified below. the recommended compensation factor for stand by(floating charge) is -3mv/℃/cell, cycle service is -4mv/℃/cell (the temperature compensation shall be made at the basis of 25℃,which is the standard center point for the battery).

4. Charge time

For standby use: the battery after discharging, usually, the full recharge time is no less than 24 hours.

For cycle use: it could calculate the necessary recharge time as follow if we know the last discharge capacity and initial charge current.

A. (When the discharge current ≥0.25C)

Tch = Cdis/I +3~5

B. (When the discharge current <0.25C)

Tch = Cdis/I +6~10

Notes::

Tch = Time of full recharge (h)

Cdis = Last discharge capacity (Ah)

I = the large initial charge current (A)

5.S E R V I C E L I F E

1. The mainly factors of shortening the service life of a battery:

A. Repetition of deep discharge;

B. Deep discharge after repeating shallow charge;

C. High ambient temperature

D. Overcharge, especially for trickle charge.

E. Excessively large charging current

F. Long time Storage (especially in the high temperature).

2. Service life of cycle use

The life of battery is affected by the deepness of discharging, temperature of environment and method of charging.

3. Service life of floating charge

The lifetime of floating charge is effected by discharge voltage and temperature of environment. 6.C A P A C I T Y R E T E N T I O N

1.Self-discharge

(1) The battery will reduce the capacity and be in a state of discharge after long-term store. It

called discharge, and it is ineluctably even the whole new battery which was never be used.

The reason as follow:

A. Chemical factor:

Pbso4 produced by PbO2(positive plate’s activated substances) and Pb(negative

plate’s activated substances) to H2so4 (electrolysis), in fact ,this chemical reaction is

self-discharge process.

B. Electrochemistry factor:

Self-discharge cause by Oxidation - reduction reaction of impurity.

The self-discharge of Resden team battery is very low because of little impurity.

(2)The relation of self-discharge and storage temperature.

2.Open circuit voltage

We also can judge the residuary capacity from the open circuit voltage

7.S T O R A G E

(1)The battery should be stored in the low temperature, dry, ventilated and clean environment,

Keep it with full charge, and recharge it per3-6 months. Keep away from fire and heat source,avoid direct sunlight.

(2)Do not leave the battery in a discharged condition, please recharge it immediately after

discharge.

(3)Sometimes, supplementary recharge shall be repeated until capacity has recover to

pre-storage capacity

(4)Equalizing charge the battery to recover the capacity when the open circuit voltage is below

12.63V(25℃).

(5)Low temperature allows the battery to be stored for longer period. For example, storing

battery at ambient temperature 15℃,or below humidity, clean and out of sunlight will give a shelf life of 12months before supplementary charge.
