我十岁那年,突然要搬家,从我唯一熟悉的家搬走,心中痛苦万分。从出生的那一刻起,我整个的简短人生就是在那栋虽破旧然而宽敞的老屋里度过的。全家四代人苦也好,乐也好,相敬如宾地生活在一起。 当搬家的日子终于不可避免地来临的时候,我跑到老屋后面的小门廊,坐在那儿独自伤心地颤抖着,泪水从心底喷涌而出。突然,一只手放在我的肩头,抬起头,我看到了外公,“有点难受是不是?比利!”外公在我身边的台阶上坐下来,和蔼地说。

“外公,”我透过泪水说,“我如何向您和我的朋友们说再见呢?”

外公顿了顿,起身走向苹果树,“‘再见’是一个让人伤心的词儿,”他说,“说‘再见’好像太绝情、有太多的告别意味。我们似乎有许多不同的方式说再见,但它们都有一个共同之处,那就是令人感到悲伤。” 我迷惑的目光仍然停留在外公的脸上,他轻轻地拉起我,“跟我来,孩子。”外公低声说道。 他拉起我的手来到前院,外公最喜欢的地方长着一大丛红色的玫瑰,兀自傲然地开着。
