I’m happy to hear from you. Here is something about Mount Tai. Mount Tai is one of the most famous mountains in China. It lies in the middle of Shandong Province. Every year, thousands of Chinese and foreigners visit it. It’s not far from Jinan. It takes you about one hour to get there by bus. While you are climbing the mountain, you can enjoy Halfway Gate to Heaven, Eighteen Bends, South Gate to Heaven and so on. If you are lucky enough, you may watch the great sunrise in the early morning. I hope you will have a good time.

Module 2

Dear Jim,

How are you? I'm really glad that you are interested in Spring Festival. I'd like to introduce it to you. Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China. It usually lasts for 15 days. Before the festival, people usually clean their houses. They think it can sweep away bad luck. On the eve(前夕) of the festival, family members get together and have a big meal. As they eat, they watch the Spring Festival Gala on TV. At midnight, they set off fireworks(放烟花) to welcome the New Year. During the festival, people visit their relatives and friends. They wish each other a happy year and good luck.

A) Bruce Lee is my hero. He was a very popular film star in the world. In 1940, he was born in America. When he was three, he moved to Hong Kong. （In his life he acted in many films and he often played heroes. He was good at Chinese kung fu. He studied kung fu very hard. He made Chinese kung fu famous in the world.）I’m proud of him. It’s a pity that he died when he was thirty-three. But he will always live in my heart.

B) Everyone has a hero in his heart. I also have one. That’s my mother. My mother is very kind. She helps me a lot. She takes good care of my daily life. For example, every morning, she wakes me up and cooks breakfast for me. When I am in trouble, she always encourages me to face the difficulties and cheers me up. Once I argued with my friend and was unhappy. My mother talked with me and finally helped me solve the problem. With my mother’s help, I am a top student in my class. I am very thankful for all that she has done for me. She is my hero.

Module 4

A) Dear Jenny,

I met the same problem as you when I was younger. But now I can get along better with my mother. Here are some ideas for you.

Firstly, your mother talks much because she worries about you. It shows your mother’s love. So you should listen to her. Secondly, if your opinions are different from your mother’s, talk with her, and tell her your ideas. Last but not least, if your mother doesn’t agree, just keep silent and give her a smile.

I hope the ideas can help you a lot.

B) I have changed a lot during the past few years. I was short before. But now, I am as tall as my father. The most important thing is that I have learned to look after others.

It was a Tuesday evening. When I was back home, no one was in. So I cooked the meal. I didn’t

know my mother was ill until my parents came back home from the hospital. When they saw the meal, they felt very happy. At night, I prepared hot water for my mother and washed her feet. My mother was pleased with it.

It was the first time that I realized I was not a child any more.

Module 5 A technology exhibition

Next week, there will be a technology exhibition(科技展) in the Park Museum. All the exhibits（展品） are on the first floor. In Room A, you can see some model cars and learn about car history. Go to Room B, and you’ll see all kinds of model planes and learn about the history of planes. In Room C, you’ll see model rockets and know how people travel into space and back. Go to Room D, and you can see modern farming tools and learn how to use them. The exhibition is free. The museum is open daily from 8 am to 5 pm, next Monday to next Sunday. If you’re interested in technology, welcome to our exhibition next week.

A)Dear Mike,

I’ve learned about your problems. Here are some advice for you. Firstly, I think you should be active in（积极的，活跃的） group work in class and be brave enough to express your ideas（表达想法）. Besides, try to talk with your classmates at break（课间）. If you want to get on well with your classmates, don’t forget to say hello when you meet them. Being friendly and helpful is also very important. What’s more, you need to take part in all kinds of class activities, such as sports meetings and singing competitions. I’m sure you will soon be among friends.

I enjoy reading different kinds of books, but Harry Porter is my favorite one. The book is written by J. K. Rowling. The story is very long but I am interested in it. It tells an interesting story about Harry and his friends. Harry was such a brave and clever boy to fight against the bad men. His Z-shaped scar and magic stick brought me into a magical world. In fact, the fiction story is so meaningful that I can learn a lot from it. I think it's the best book I've ever read.

Module8

Dear Jack,

Swimming is also my favourite sports. When I was eight years old, I was often ill. So my parents took me to swimming lessons. Later I became very interested in swimming. It is really fun. When I swim in the water, I feel like a fish. It’s funny. By swimming I get relaxed and become more confident and stronger. I like this sport.

By the way, I took part in the swimming match last week in our school. I won first place. Swimming is really very good for us. Let’s enjoy swimming.

I think the most useful invention of all time is the Internet. With the Internet, I can do many things. I can do some shopping without leaving my home. I bought a pair of shoes and some books online last week. I can enjoy music on the Internet and learn some popular songs. When I finish my homework, I can play games on the Internet. （A）Low-carbon life is good for everyone. To save the environment, I always walk or ride a bike to school instead of taking a car. Besides, I often use things that can be recycled and I never forget to turn off the lights when I leave the classroom and my house. I think it’s my duty to live a low-carbon life. And even the simplest activities can make a difference to the environment. So I suggest we should reuse books as long as possible. And we’d better not spend much money on clothes made of fur. If everyone does something for the environment, I believe the earth will be a better place.

（B）How to protect the environment？

Today there is more and more pollution and the environment is becoming worse and worse. It’s very important for us to protect the environment. What should we do to protect it?

First, we can stop driving our personal cars. We can go to school or work on foot or by bus. Not only can it protect the environment, but also it is good for our health.

Second, we should keep the school clean. Don’t throw little around. We should throw little into the dustbin. And we mustn’t spit in public.

Third, we should try to plant more trees. We can’t kill the animals and we should get along well will with them.

It’s our duty to protect the environment. Let’s be greener persons.
