TheREF50xxisfamilyoflow-noise,precision

bandgapvoltagereferencesthatarespecifically

designedforexcellentinitialvoltageaccuracyand

drift.Figure22showsasimplifiedblockdiagramof

therequirementof2.7V,thesereferencescanbeoperatedwithasupplyof200mVabovetheoutputvoltageinanunloadedcondition.Forloadedconditions,atypicaldropoutvoltageversusloadplotisshowninFigure6oftheTypicalCharacteristics.OUTPUTADJUSTMENTUSINGTHETRIM/NR

TheREF50xxprovidesaveryaccurate,factory-trimmedvoltageoutput.However,VOUTcanbeadjustedusingthetrimandnoisereductionpin(TRIM/NR,pin5).Figure24showsatypicalcircuitthatallowsanof±15mV

Thetemperatureoutputterminal(TEMP,pin3)

providesatemperature-dependentvoltageoutput

withapproximately60k sourceimpedance.Asseen

VTEMPPINPOWERDISSIPATIONTheREF50xxfamilyisspecifiedtodelivercurrentloadsof±10mAoverthespecifiedinputvoltagerange.Thetemperatureofthedeviceincreasesaccordingtotheequation:TJ=TA+PD×θJA=509mV+2.64×T(°C)

Thispinindicatesgeneralchiptemperature,accurate

toapproximately±15°C.Althoughitisnotgenerally

suitableforaccuratetemperaturemeasurements,it

canbeusedtoindicatetemperaturechangesorfor

temperaturecompensationofanalogcircuitry.A

temperaturechangeof30°Ccorrespondstoan

approximate79mVchangeinvoltageattheTEMP

pin.

TheTEMPpinhashighoutputimpedance(see

Figure22Loadingthispinwithalow-impedance

ameasurementerror;however,itdoes

nothaveanyeffectonVOUTaccuracy.Toavoid

errorscausedbylow-impedanceloading,bufferthe

TEMPpinoutputwithasuitablelow-temperaturedrift
