Hello, everyone! The topic of my speech is“Science and technology changes lives”.With the development of science and technology, our daily life is changed by them. 40 or 50 years ago, we watched white and black television. Now, we watch LED TV. before, we had to climb a mountain to get water. Now we turn on the faucet. Before, we cooked outside and used matches. Now we turn a switch when we cook. before ,we travel by foot and horse. Now there are so many kinds of transport. Previously, having light at night was troublesome. You had to light a candle or an oil lamp. Later, Edison invented the light bulb which solved the problem of having light at night. From then on, people could live, work and do things in the night as they did in the day. Previously, communicating with foreign friends was almost an impossible thing but since the Internet has become a reality we can communicate easily and quickly. We can easily say, that the progress of science and technology has changed the life of human beings.

Before mankind used light bulbs that emitted diode which was not only inefficient, had a short service life but also had low brightness. Now we have energy-saving light bulbs. Under the premise of the same the light output as before we can take the power consumption of the common bulb at just 1/5 to 1/4. This can save a lot of lighting electricity and costs. Previous generations required a lot of coal. This not only wasted resources but also polluted the environment. Now using light energy, wind energy and hydroelectric power, we can solve the problems of wasting resources but also protect the environment. Before to make a dress, it took many procedures to make it but now with the modern mode of production, not only does it shorten the production time, and reduce the waste of manpower but also we produce more beautiful clothes. The progress of science and technology is closely connected with the development of human beings. Science and technology makes human life more convenient. Now people's lives have become inseparable from science and technology.

This month is our school's science and technology month. Science and technology have played an important part in our life. We have more to learn in science. As we study science and use science we can, as we said in front of the saints, “love our family, love our school, love our country and love nature , in order to make our life more beautiful.” Please join with us, under the guidance of our school’s ideas, learn knowledge, improve our ability and increase our wisdom, by using science and technology and the development of science and technology. By doing this we can make the world a better place.
